This may be a silly question, but how does this intake not get really hot being right over the radiator? I popped my hood after driving the other day to check on my Injen, and of course the area above and around the radiator is very hot. I could only touch the top of it for a few seconds without cooking my hand.

The V8 one has a rubber mat that goes between the intake and radiator for an insulator. The VR doesn't even feel warm after driving unless you touch right next to the throttle body. I'm assuming the V6 version will be the same.

Well just my $.02, I figure if all the other version they have that are the same (Position wise) as the V6 don't have any issues this one should be good also! A member in my Club has this on his SS and no issues so far with heat or water.

I may have asked you this at some point so forgive me lol, but do you plan on doing a base dyno? I know it can be expensive, but without a base dyno you will really have no idea what you've gained.

You dyno may come out saying your only at 260 rwhp and you may think thats pretty shitty when in fact your base may only have been 240 (on that dyno..on a different one it could have been much more)....it really just depends on the dyno used.

Well, finally back home after a 3000 mile road trip (C5FestII, Sedona, Grand Canyon, Route 66, Santa Fe, Carlsbad Caverns, etc...). What a trip!

No problems at all, from sea level to 7000+ feet, mountain passes to high plains, 86 octane no-name gas to tier-1 93 octane, loaded down with 4 people plus luggage. Couldn't have been happier with this intake's performance. Thanks Vararam!

No. For now, I believe the plan is to only offer a no-tune version for the V6.

Pasadena, TX actually. Close enough to call it Houston.

Oddly enough, I haven't done a video other than the ones I did on the dyno day. I didn't bother to post those because the audio sucked since the dyno is at the back of an enclosed shop. TJ91 - you should be able to attest to how loud the SOLO exhaust gets at wide open throttle......I'll see what I can do for videos for everyone but no promises...this week is going to be hell at work after being away on vacation for the last 2 weeks.

Za? How did you manage that?? Did the Vararam come with an extended cab mod?

Well, that would be me, my wife, my two kids, and enough luggage to fill the trunk...the entire trunk.

Ahh, okay. Didn't realize it was little people sitting in the back. I just figured you enjoyed making people sit uncomfortably on long road trips... Glad the Vararam is working out for you. I may have to invest in one someday.

Rolnslo, how was your gas mileage on your trip? Did you see an improvement with the new intake? Just curious at what gains we can expect if any

I know it is a long thread, but this has been answered. He has a couple different dynos posted around pages 15 to 17 (somewhere around there, just go look on those pages for them).

Showed around a 25 HP gain on his manual. Vararam is claiming around 20 HP on automatics.

Gas mileage should (if anything) be improved.
