I picked mine up Thursday afternoon. The Dealer didn't have a clue that the posts were to be installed for the cover. I installed them today in about 15 Min.

I installed mine today. Glad i read about it on here. I would suggest doing it yourself though, But thats just me, It was easy after you built of the confidence to pull hard anough on the plastic.

The cover is the ONLY thing that is wrong with the Vert - absolutely a pain in the ass to put on by yourself and the clips should be a lot easier to snap into. With that being said, it does look nice when it is finally on... Hopefully this will be an area of improvement with the future Verts - Maybe the Z28 Vert will have an automatic hard cover!

Pics required! Sorry, that was just wrong...

My technique is to take one hand under the tonneau cover, line up clips, make sure the tab is flush to back seat, then push down from the top with the 'over' hand. I get this installed in about 20 seconds this way.

I think we need to get all the owners of the Vert to band together and contact GM. This is the worst application i have ever experienced in my life. I fear every time i put the cover on, that the clips will break. It should not be as difficult to do as they have made it to be. Complain and we will be heard!

Our dealer called us about the clips not being installed. Had us bring it in the next day and installed them for us. I tried putting the cover on and it was not that hard to do. I used the same method as Lightrider. Seemed pretty solid at 55 MPH I guess I will find out if it is more of a pain later if it ever stops raining at my house. Rain is in the forecast all week.

Sounds like every yearly Camaro gathering should have an impromptu class to teach newbies how to deal with this beastly cover.

Maybe this will be one of the things Chevrolet readdresses for 2012 though.

That's the way I do it...so you can't gently line up, feel, and latch the clips. Then tuck the rest in...and cruise.

Swagled, great idea! Can anyone who has their car please put together a quick video? I would, but OrangeVert will not be assembled until next week (TPW 5/2/11), though s/he theorectially exists in parts - according to the status website!

Any clue to the size of the posts? It wasn't installed by my dealer and I figure it may be easier to just get a bolt of similar size.

Look inside the bag that holds your tonneau cover.
