My parents live in Colorado and they say that Colorado prices are pretty close to Arizona's prices. So, if you only paid $206.50 you got a deal.

Edit: To personalize the plates in Arizona it's an additonal $25 per year.
Move to ny and pay property tax I'll gladly pay 818 for plates

Mine cost me a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, but worth it!!!

However, the State of Iowa thinks I haven't paid enough so they charged me $35 to get these Veteran plates and then $10 extra every year to keep them. This is on top of the normal registration fees. WTF???

California DMV chatrged me $60 bucks. Donot know what the renewal fee is it is included in the renewal.

Just checked registration ELP renewal for California is $38.00 total registration fee for 2010/2011 was $511.00 ouch. California has a $25 Billion deficit. In the past licence fees droped after the first year of ownership. My registration fee increased the second year of ownership. I cannot reccommend moving to california for the sunny weather.

In Montana you renew every year. Seems to me when I renewed my plates this year for the Camaro it was $350 (in that area). That's right- $350 for one year. NY sounds like a heck of a deal to me on the plates. Of course, in Montana we don't have a Sales Tax so when the sticker on the Camaro was $35,000 that's what I paid. Not the $35,000 + 8% Sales Tax.

Mine are probably around $200 for 2 years. It's like gas mileage. If you have to ask you can't afford it. We do get raped 8% on sales tax on net over trade-in, or full with no trade-in, but it least we don't get it stuck to us in the form of personal property tax or excise tax annually like some states.

Of course that doesn't include city registration and personal property tax, or are you military exempt? Based on my experience when I lived there you can add on about $25/yr city reg and probably $600+/yr property tax on this type of vehicle.
