Doesn't make financial sense but sometimes psychological sense means more than financial sense if that makes any sense. Take a deep breath and really think about what you want to do. Don't jump the gun You could really regret it in the long run. If you have the financial stability to take the big hit in the 1st place, another option is keep the car and use some of that money that would be lost and have a reputable service detail it for you. A win win imho.

Hi ryanB. Just like, you, I am brand new to this forum. I just bought my 2011 SS Black-on-Black 2 days ago and I can see where you are coming from. I have a three year old son who LOVES to play in and around "daddies" car and had similar concerns. However, I traded in a Pearl White Acura TSX to go back to Black. As a few others have mentioned, both colors show just about everything. I have been shopping around for the last 2 months and have debated all possible colors. If it was a pearl white and not a [flat] Summit White, I would have purchased it. However, the Summit White is too flat and, again, as was previously stated it will get gray very quick (I live in FL with love bug seasons and dust EVERYWHERE). My Acura always looked good, but only looked best after a nice detail. I know my new SS will be the same; it is ALWAYS going to look better than anything on the road, and even better after a nice detail!

One other thing to check with the dealer that you bought it from; can you get the "'Simoniz" protection"? for around $400, the car is getting "Simoniz" protection that covers the paint job from anything that gets on the car and eats away the clear coat or paint (tree sap, bugs, etc.) for 7 years. This should also help keep that blinding glare going strong after each and every bath.

But, the choice that makes you happiest is the best choice. If you are going to keep the car for the next 20 years [and lets the kids fight over who is going to get it], trade it in and get what you want. If you plan to trade it in in the next few years, I would suggest to keep this one and change colors on the next shopping spree.

I know how you feel. I had my heart set on a black 2SS with orange rally stripes & inferno orange interior. I went as far as placing an order for it, despite my nephew's & a good friend's advice not to go with black because of the difficulty with keeping it looking good. I then canceled the order & found a summit white 2SS with all the options I wanted, so I bought it. Never thought I'd be happy with a white car but it looks great with the orange rally stripes & inferno orange interior. White stays cooler in hot sun & is highly visible at night.
Bottom line is get what makes you happy.

i currently have a 2011 Camaro SS/RS that is black on black manual with a sunroof, hurst shifter, midnight silver wheels and the heads up display and 700 miles on the odometer. i am at this point regretting getting black do to the maintanence issues and the paint shows every little scratch. with two small kids i see a lot of scratches in the future even if its parked in the garage. is the black paint on these cars really thin/weak?

....i have been looking at leftover 2010's to possibly trade for a lighter color that might hide some of these small scratches in the future. so far some dealers have given be the brush off but a couple have been interested. i currently have two dealers each with Summit white camaros willing to deal with me. have not been able to find any silver or inferno orange that are close and willing to work something out.
one will do an even trade on a 2010 ss/rs summit white with orange stripes 6spd with infero orange interior, no sunroof, with 250 miles on odometer from test drives etc.
the second is a 2010 ss/rs summit white with black stripes 6spd, black interior, polished wheels, no sunroof, with 400 miles on odometer from a dealer trade and test drives. this dealer offered me their car and 500 dollars for mine and might even do 1000 if i push them.

am i out of my mind for even considering to do this?? should i just deal with the scratches on the black paint? i know i will be giving up heads up display and i can care less about the sunroof. the one with the black stripes has back up seinsors and a VIN prefix of 919 so the build date is 02/10.

and lastly how is the paint on summit white. hides scratches pretty good?
----------------------------

They must not have a consitent paint setup there in Canada. I hear complaints of thin paint. But only from 2010 owners. Mine is black, but a 2011 and the first thing I noticed was how thick and rich the paint looked. Maybe they did better for 2011 or maybe I got mine painted by a veteran and not a rookie.
