It's been over $4.00 in NYC for a week or so

$4.19 regular
$4.47 for premium as of today

My car requires premium but I don't mind since the gas last longer than in my Jeep Wrangler.

It's $4.29 here...but I didn't buy an SS for it's stellar fuel economy.

When I get really upset, I just take my 68 Firebird to the station and fill up with Turbo Blue 110 octane at $8.99 a gallon. Thats a $160 bill.

Just buy 4 liters of Evian water. Thats $10 a gallon.

It's around $3.85 here. In a sense, I did buy my SS for the fuel economy. Still MUCH better than I got in my G35S. The 19/27 sticker on that was lying through its teeth! I pretty consistently got 15/23. Best I've gotten in the SS is 18/28.

While I understand the comment that people who can afford premium fuel cars don't care, I think that's sad if it's really the case. Regardless of what you can afford, you should always be smart about your money. But I guess that's probably how we've gotten ourselves into this mess, anyway. Sure, I can afford the fuel for my car, but I'd be negligent if I didn't care about what kind of mileage I got and how much it costs to fill up a tank.

Guess who makes the most money on gasoline? Many will say "big oil", just as politicians want them to. But, it's the politicians that are making the money. Per gallon of fuel Exxon makes $0.02, but state governments make an average of $0.49 and the federal government make $0.18.

70% of the price is from crude oil costs, refinement, and distribution. Oil importation, exploration, and refinement are heavily regulated by state and federal governments, the costs for those regulations are passed on to us in terms of high feul prices.

The gub'mint is the largest culprit when it comes to high gasoline prices. They block oil exploration in our own territory and are trying to regulate energy such that we're all driving electric cars, using mass transit and riding bicycles. So, the next time your favorite politician tries to blame "millionaires" and "billionaires" for something, it's more likely the fault of the very government the politician manages.

Here is some info: http://www.dailymarkets.com/economy/...it-per-gallon/

This morning in Gilbert AZ it was $3.76 for 87, and $3.99 for 93, which I am sure will be higher once I go home.

i can't say i truly regret not buying a v8 anymore. paying 4.20 for regular and not enjoying. to pay for better gas then get less out of it would kill me. along with the insurance savings of around 200 a year i'm quite the happy camper. You can thank wall street speculators for your gas prices btw.

This probably isn't the best place to ask, but who owns the wells in Saudi Arabia? Is it the government or the corporations such as Exxon/BP? So my basic question is... If you buy a barrel of crude oil from Saudi Arabia, who are you paying?

I was under the assumption that Companies such as Exxon leased the wells and paid the land owners whoever they may be.
