I can easily get 28mpg on the highway at 60 if I behave. With mods that (ideally) make your engine operate more freely than stock, I don't have a hard time believing the video at all.

"If an extra $50 or so a month is breaking your budget then you really should not be driving whatever car it is you have."

I wish it were $50.00 a month, but between our three vehicles it's costing me about $160.00 a month more in fuel total, nevermind the grocery bill going up by another $100.00. Remember when Obama was a candidate he was asked what he thought a fair price for gasoline would be and he replied $5.50 a gallon. Well we are on our way.

Nope. That does not work either. We have reduced gasoline consumption dramatically during this "recession". The refiners simply refine even less, because they can.

And yet another one of these ridiculous threads. Look, gas is going to keep going up. It just is and there's nothing to be gained about bitching about it. Like death and taxes it's a fact of life. Deal with it.

People buying hybrids will not affect a damn thing, if anything it will make gas prices higher as they push hybrid technology upon us by purposely making prices higher.

And to the guy who blamed the Democrats for all our gas woes, time for a reality check. Gas prices are climbing regardless of what party is in power, and are also climbing world wide at a steady rate. I'm sure Obama is not the cause of that.

Like my other Canadian brethren, I am paying roughly $1.50 a liter, which is almost $5.70 a gallon. When you reach that price, you'll know filling pain. In Britain it is well beyond $6/gal. Perspective folks...

Yeah, it sucks. But it shouldn't be a shock to anyone. It's only getting higher.

When was the last time you saw a production car perform at peak efficiency? Just because the car's fast doesn't mean it's inefficient. Someone needs to get their science right.

Well, given most of the roads I travel have a speed limit around 50, I will tell you that I drive 60 most of the time. Especially now that my commute is a little farther than it was, I'm sure I'll be averaging around 60 on most tanks.

I have roughly the same amount of power that he does and although I've never seen 28MPG, I've averaged 25.8MPG on a road trip. On the return trip I only managed 22.5 because I was into the boost rather frequently. If I drive normally and don't keep my foot planted on the accelerator I have a better MPG average now than when I was stock.

On another note, what does it matter to you if he does or doesn't get the 28MPG he listed? Are you upset that a 600HP SS is getting good gas mileage?

n2oSS, you're right...at $1.51 per liter, it does compute to $5.72 a gal. 10 days ago, ethanol free premium here was $4.03..I'm not looking forward to filling up this week. Probably around $4.12, or so, is my guess..I'll see tomorrow.

Why would I be, but 25 is more realistic then 28, no matter what V8 your talking about, For istance what do you think the ZLI which will have less power then is will have on it's sticker as MPG's? Be real, it will be about 21/22 Highway maybe less

Maurdib, relax and take a chill pill. I didn't buy a supercharger just to have a lead foot all the time. I bought the 2SS/RS for looks and comfort just as much as power. I don't mind just cruising at 60 like in my video. the car is great for driving like it was built for (on the track), but also as a nice cruiser to enjoy. For the times that I do go to the track for road course and dragging, I have the extra power when I WANT to use it. Remember, you can buy a supercharger to have fun and not race ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE. I can get 14 mpg, or I can get 28, hell I can get 31 if I REALLY want to. It's all about how you drive the car.

TLR, The sticker of cars is the averagempg, but actual mpg will fluctuate based on how you drive the car.
