The trick is to make it to 125, and still drive a car like that!

I don't have a view of "slow" yet, I'm only 17 lol. My opinions won't matter on this forum until I'm 25.

Though my personal opinion is that in today's standards, anything over a 13.5 1/4 (or thereabouts) in a performance oriented vehicle is "slow." By performance vehicle, I mean a sport-type vehicle with a motor specifically meant for performance applications. Such as the LS3 or Coyote. I don't consider the LS or LT Camaro as a performance vehicle. I think it's main focus is of the overall style of it being a Camaro combined with the V6.

That being said, there's of course those that will mod their cars and whatnot, but I'm talking solely from the factory. Also, I don't think I made any sense to my rambling so I'm sorry lol. In a nutshell, I don't care either way what someone gets, does, has, etc.

Edit: It would appear that I took way too long to type this... my bad lol

It isnt how FAST your car can go thats impressive (HP) its how QUICKLY it can get there (TORQUE).

STOCK V6 Camaro dyno: 253 rwhp and 227 rwtq
STOCK V8 (LS3) Camaro dyno: 355 rwhp and 366 rwtq

Same dyno and weight has no effect on the dyno...

Thats your "problem", 227 ft-lbs of torque. Flash the 312 HP all you want if that makes you happy but thats not what makes a car quick, facts are facts.

As far as the people asking "is that a V8" and then turning a cold shoulder when you say no... screw them. There is nothing wrong with the V6. Its a great car... be happy with what you have and don't let people get under your skin... and be happy not many people know the difference between HP and TQ. LOL

I Get this all the time: "Is that a V8?" "No, it's a V6." "Man you should have gotten a V8." "And what are you driving, oh, I'll stick with my V6." It's happened to me about 3 or 4 times.

Sure that may be fast for it's category, but it's still not fast. I don't think anybody goes around bragging about a high 13 low 14 time slip. I know I wouldn't.

Exactly. The V6 just isn't meant for performance.

Most of the people I encounter don't know too much about the new camaro, when I first got mine everyone assumed it was a v8. When I tell them its only a 6 shooter with 312hp they're amazed, wish I could see their reaction to learning about the ss.

I guess it's just a mentality of the crowds you are in. I've always been around a crowd where unless you are not at least in the 12's you've got nothing much to talk about in terms of your car being fast. So I've never done much talking.

lol, well i hang around people that realize what the car is, and what it should be capable of. and that 1/4 mile time is no joke for a stock N/A v6 that weighs so much.
