CTS rice burner?

Saw a CTS today. Had to look twice when it drove by because it sounded like a rice burner with a fart can muffler on it. My first thought was that it was a crotch rocket driving by....man was I surprised when i saw that it was a caddy making that noise.

How the hell do you get a caddy to sound like that?

Well I suppose the base model 6 cyl engine is rather smaller 3.0L engine. I suppose there are plenty 2.XL 4 bangers out there, so really, if you put the right crappy exhaust on a smaller 6 cyl you can make it sound just as bad as a 4 banger!

Question is why would you want a CTS to sound like a lawn mower?

I am sure it was a base model.....which does have a V6.....the EXACT SAME V6 that is in our Camaros......I have one, but mine is an STS....none the less, why anyone would put one of those things (the fart can) on a beautiful car like that is beyond me!

The CTS has about 5 different V6 motors, besides the LLT 3.6 that is in the Camaro. Just have to determine what year it was...

2.6, 2.8, 3.0, 3.2, and the original 3.6 that predates the LLT...

The 2.6 and 2.8 were virtually 200hp p.o.s.'s

True enough......but they have been using the 3.6 for at least 4 years, since that is what they were using in 08, but it could have bewen the standard engin, and not the DI, as both were available. So who what the BONEHEAD had in his abortion ...lol
