Then why did you vote no? Obviously this survey is too complicated.

I would absolutely buy a ZL1 if it came with an Auto. I'm just not that into manuals anymore. I've had them and I prefer to just chill a little bit behind the wheel now. If you add an auto to the ZL1 you WILL sell one more to this guy right here. =)

Ha ha ha. Thats very possible. For a guy who specializes with the Camaro and Camaro forums one would think I would be close to the front of the line for information! I wish I could have been down in the desert for the C5Fest too!

Thanks PQ, I did not read all the posts, I may have missed that. Good points!

You are in the minority of the manual guys. You're more grown up in your train of thought. Many here feel the same way you do. It's typicaly the kids who had a hard time learning how to do it that are the culprits due to their pride and the feeling in themselves that they've accomplished something. I spent 20 years driving manual vehicles including 18 wheelers and I did finally get tired of it. Funner? Sometimes. But I prefer the straight line acceleration. I want to win more often.

It's turned into a nice rivalry that most of us 'get'. It's the auto guys who retaliate from the attacks. There is no reason for an auto guy to attack without being called out first.

BOTH sides tend to take it too far. I've thought of converting mine to manual but only for the fun factor.

The guys who say the manual is funner are the guys who I get. The ones who say a performance car should always be a manual are then ones I laugh at. They REALLY believe they are better drivers.......

The only reason I bought the M6 was to get the LS3. It's silly to have a different engine for a different transmission...

Just glad new autos r good. Not like old factory autos that only were 4 speed & took 30sec to shift.

I should make compare Vid on shifting manual & auto .. see if people can guess which shifted faster .. I have auto & manual Camaro SS at my disposal

Look at the 2010 specs on the ss. Although the LS3 has 23 more horses the L99 is a tenth of a second quicker to 60mph. So the auto should shift faster

You cant go by that.. the L99 has less HP more then 23.. but it has a tighter gear ratio.. Auto is probably also easier to launch..
Im really curious now..
My dads auto though has a tune so it shifts faster now.. you can tell the difference between stock and tune.. Everybody with an auto should get a tune
Best way would probably be using a GTech or VBox and seeing how long the shift is by looking at the drop in acceleration Gs

Is it silly that you didn't have to pay a gas guzzler tax?

You guys get your auto yet? No? Guess it's safe to say "They definitively ROCK" whenever I see a ZL1.

Ya know, I'm a bit worried with all the threads/posts about the trouble M6 folks are having...notchy shifts, messed up clutches, and even complete tranny replacements. I don't seem to see similar complaints about the auto transmissions.
