It will sit there until the dealer places it against their
allocation. When they get it hopefully your
dealer is honest and upfront with you.

I could see a delay clearing customs, or on the rail route, once they are off loaded from the rail cars it should be Money-In-The-Bank for the dealers!

A delay at this point is really costing GM & the Dealer $$$

Not really smart from a business point of view!

The problem is a shortage of railcars and trucks to move
the metal so to speak. Trust me, GM is well aware of
how much this is costing

Just to cover yourself I would call around to some other local dealers and explain your situation and ask them if they have an available allocation for the car.

I called and they tell me they get their allocations on Thursday and there won't be a problem....

Becky, quick question, mine shipped on 4/25, generally, how long before the dealer receives it. I know that a lot depends on the distances involved, but I thought you might have a general norm. Thanks

03/22/2011 - (2500) Order preferenced. Order pulled to the production system.
03/22/2011 - (3000) Order accepted by production control. Parts being ordered and production process is underway.
04/18/2011 - (3100) Order available to sequence.
04/18/2011 - (3300) Order scheduled for production. Order is scheduled into the plant build cycle.
04/20/2011 - (3000) Order accepted by production control. Parts being ordered and production process is underway.
04/22/2011 - (3100) Order available to sequence.
04/22/2011 - (3300) Order scheduled for production. Order is scheduled into the plant build cycle.
04/27/2011 - (3400) Order Broadcast (internal plant paperwork order produced). Order is sent to various build & supplier areas to bring order together.
05/03/2011 - (3800) Order produced and vehicle is being prepared for shipping. For Cadillac, GMC and Buick customers, please contact your dealer or customer service for further updates as no further updates available at this time.
05/03/2011 - (4000) Vehicle available to ship.
05/03/2011 - (4150) Invoiced (order is invoiced to the dealer).

Well, I guess I should know tomorrow or Friday....I would think it would update pretty quickly in the system if they give me an allocation, correct? The implication was certainly that it would go to me, and I have no reason yet to believe they are not being forthright...

I was actually more anxious before placing the order. Now I'm more calm. Maybe cuz I know its going to be a while. In the meantime, I've decided on three appearance mods. Iom painted and chrome bowties, custom iom painted mgp caliper covers with black Metallica ninja star logos and a interior door panel and dashboard trim kit in... You guessed it, iom. lol.
