I currently own and run a 96 Cobra with the DOHC. RUns 13.8 consistently. And I womp on 5.0s. [stock or mild upgrades of course] allll. day. long. I laugh when they overheat If I had an intake, headers, exhaust, and shifter in my v6 Camaro... It would be a fun race, but the Cobra would still win... its got a wicked torque curve and redline. ![]() Now, a 95 Cobra... with an exhaust, and say the guy even had an intake and shifter; just for sh!s n giggles... Running maybe 260 at the crank, in a low end tq 5.0 with no top end. The Camaro runs 312 at the crank and has a 300lb DISadvantage. I still vote Camaro. Every time. Cobra R..... different story. talk about a spanking...

No problem. I think it is foolish not to understand and respect heritage of our cars. Nothing, in my mind, can replace the American Muscle Car. Sure Porsches, Ferraris, and Lambos can be fun but for affordability and the amount of fun you can have with American Muscle can be surpassed by none. When I was looking at purchasing my Camaro I seriously considered the Mustang but I have always loved Chevys and more specifically Camaros.

![]() Ahhh, how's fantasy land over there? ![]() 95 Cobra 5.0 = 240hp on 3400lbs. 96 Cobra 4.6 DOHC = 305hp on 3400lbs. I dont know where you get your info there bro-mo-chacho but the evidence is quite clear. Not to mention my personal experience with the car for the past 6 years. I'm not gonna sit here and try to convince you of facts. I know and respect 5.0s. Im a car guy, not brand loyal; I'm not car-ist. But truth is truth. Unless dude has a Cobra R; you're talkin out your butt sir.

little random, but after reading those obviously wrong stats about a '95 stock cobra (if you have a cobra that actually weighs 3750lbs check your trunk) I went to see the real specifications and came across this old article from motortrend that was pretty cool...
It's a '65 gt350 vs a '95 cobra R model ![]() http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...rim/index.html |

![]() I know allll about SVT my main man. Don't you fret. I never said I had the stock engine in my Cobra. It is in-fact a 4.6L DOHC from a 96 Cobra... but it's been completely rebuilt. No power adders, not even a CAI or exhaust. I'm really sorry that you think it's slow; but it's not. Sure, it's not running 11's. Thats totally fine with me; for now. Camaro has some love handles, over 300lb worth. Add in the 30 tq advantage on the Cobra, and the curve of said tq... Cobra wins. Camaro is 0.4 slower.

the 95 is slower than the 96. fact. the v6 camaro is faster than the 95 cobra. fact. the 96 cobra is faster than the v6 camaro. fact. so let me spell it out for you. '10 Camaro beats 95 Cobra. 96 Cobra beats them both. End of story. You can argue all you want; doesn't change concrete facts. OP. You're totaly right, I'm sorry, I just hate misinformation being spread about. In honor of Cinco De Mayo; Lo Siento.I bet 'luvfastcars' still thinks may 5th celebrates Mexico's independence. ![]() Just joshin with ya man; don't take this all so seriously, have a Modelo Negro, calm down, and accept that 95 Cobra isnt faster. The Truth. Shall Set You Free!
