Hondas you need to be afraid of are bubbles(hatches) with motor swaps, eg coupes as well.

ive seen a bolt on + tune + cams newer si lose to a bolt on maxima. those rarely see better than low 14s.

teggys, del sols, 4 door eks, etc generally arent too fast. people mostly work the hatches and coupes.

Low 14s are good enough to run a v6 camaro. . . I've seen more modded integras than hatches at the track, but I also don't pay any attention on the street.

I was admittedly into the NYC street scene in high school, learned all about what cars are actually fast.

The thing is though, even the low 14 sec cars generally need radials because FWD cant hook worth shit. So they really only run 14s at the track...on the street those cars need trackbite and mad burnouts to even maybe hook.

V6 Camaro actually has a much better chance of hooking on the street.

And to whomever said the k hatches are slow, properly done they run 13s. Those cars weigh NOTHING and mods for those motors are cheap! Even cams and such are cheap because they are so easy to work on.

You could probably buy a bubble shell for ~$500, a k or h motor, the ones that make 200 hp stockish, for less than $1000. Then you just gut the stupid thing and for under 2gs + motor swap labor + parts you have a real light 200 hp car.

For 5gs total you can pretty easily have a low 12 sec car if you use nitrous. DONT sleep on certain Hondas! I agree MOST are indeed garbage but keep in mind they are cheap and there are people out there who know what they are doing.

There are a lot of if's in this. a fast civic will have a b18c or a k swap or a turbo. a k motor civic is no joke, built right they can be real fast. stock to stock there is no civic that stands a chance.

The S2000 may be able to take it, they are quick as hell. I have a hard time with them in our Sky Redline, and I can take my wifes V6 any day of the week. It's hard to over come that extra 1000 Lbs and a 1/4 mile isn't enough to take it on top end ...

This my my initial point that everyone seemed to have missed.

You can make any car go fast... I would rather have a slow camaro than a fast honda.

If gas is $8 a gallon and there's a 14 second car like the Si and it gets 40 mpg city then I might take it over the Camaro, till then it's still just an econo box with no torque.
