Wow....that SS sounds amazing! No need for the cat-back IMO.

a little more explanation.....

Only select people are given CTF vehicles - and those who got Camaros got them for a reason --

We are to call OnStar a couple of times a week to report any issues as well as mileage. The issues are, for the most part, very small details....but it's those details that we need to sweat -- and get corrected -- before we start to build your cars. (Most of the CTF vehicles will be upfitted after we're done with them and then auctioned off at a GM auction --dealers only..)

The various engineers go thru every comment and call us with any questions or concerns -- or to get more clarification on the issues we report.........

Again -- we do this because we want you to have 'perma-grin' and not have to take your Camaro back to your dealership for any 'problems'.....

(.............it's a tough job to have to drive these cars - but SOMEONE has to do it......) (running/ducking/hiding/sayinmyprayers)

My Acadia is one such unit...dealer bought it at the auction, and had his daughter drive it a bit before selling it to me.

7000rpm Redline

(About the Tach / Revving Video)...

If it revs to its redline that easily does that mean it will be likely to overheat and have damage? Is it safe to drive at or pass redline? Any car I ever had never made it up there and if it was even close it would start to overheat. It's not that easy to get there when your in gear though right? I don't mean to sound ignorant, I would just like to know? Thanks alot.

Number 3. I'm loving those videos. The LS3 sounds great, and I'll have to admit the V6 sounds hot too.

I have a question, in this video, it sure looks like a Cop Car is hanging a very quick U turn as you're hauling butt up through the gears. Do you remember seeing that car, and was it a Cop?

Fascias similar

I think the fascias are close to the same, the SS is not less pointed or flatter it just has a lip/chin that extends slightly lower and the perspective of the picture makes it appear that way. The scoop is the only noticeable difference in the front. I like that the difference is about the engine whereas you can spot exactly which level mustang someone is driving by facia, lights etc. and some look bad. but all the camaros look good even the LS.

It's really easy to get there in 1st and 2nd gear...

I would guess there's a rev limiter and in the worst situtation you'll just "bounce" off it like I occasionally did in my 96 gen 4...

There's just no reason to maintain those r's for any given length of time to begin with so "overheating" shouldn't even come into play...

I bounce off the limiter in the Legacy GT so often is sickening. As with most turbos' it doesn't make real power till it climbs up there a bit so if you aren't ready to shift to second almost immediately....BAM! Really annoying and not something I ever did in my high revving bikes or any other car.

You will not be able to go above redline because the fuel cut-off will engage at redline. The redline is set so that you do not go above the threshhold of the engine that is safe. Driving to redline should be fine, driving at redline makes no sense for it is time to shift into higher gear. Hope this helps a lil, I am sure someone will explain better than I can. GL

Welcome to the site.

Thanks!

Thanks guys for answering!! Yeah I have driven a stick for a long time, but out on the highway i rev high, and my sisters ford focus automatic can redline before the tranny shifts, but since this car has a 6-SPEED it shouldn't be a problem on the highway anyways. Thanks again!

Sunroofs

Hey Number 3, what did you think of the sunroofs on each of your cars?

Since you stopped to see us when you brought Number3 thru St Louis you are going to have to do the same with the SS, just to be fair. I will buy you a plane ticket back home.

When you and Fbodfather get together on here it just drives me crazy.

If you leave them sleeping together your going to need a bigger garage, because on 3/16 they are going to start multiplying like rabbits.

Insert Smilies as needed.

I believe the fuel shuts off. The modern engine with all of it's controls is generally smarter than me.

Basically it is a rev limiter.
