Sometime ago I read on this thread that someone else was having the same issue. It was in the earlier post. I'll see if I can find it. Not sure what they did to resolve the issue though.

Throughout the installation process I kept clicking the volume button to make sure it wasn't sticking because I had read that someone had that issue. I know it's a headache but you may have to take it off and put it back on.

Edit:
Go to post #148. You may want to PM Iwantone2 to see if he found a resolution to the sticking problem.

Not sure if that's going to work for him because I think it's getting caught under the bezel ring if I'm not mistaken.

Correct, its the bezel that seems to be the problem. I guess I'll have to pry off the airbag again and see if I can fix it. Thanks guys.

OK for sure for sure! Disconnecting the battery will gauruntee the air bag will NOT deploy right? I'm just changing the bezel cuz I'm getting it painted. I Don't want the stereo controls or need the stereo controls I use my droid as my mp3 player. Actually I have both controls' cruise and stereo. They came with a trim bezel I bought through ebay. I just wanted the trim

Yes, just disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and youre fine. I was as nervous as you until I actually did it than my biggest problem (worse than the airbag) was getting the trim off, its in there pretty good and its a s.o.b.

Thank you techsupport for showing how to remove the airbag and connection clips! I just changed my steering wheel out with an Ace wheel! The DIY was very clear and detailed! Nice job!

$50 for the access fee and then $98/hour labor. I'd say $84 is a deal.

Yep, Had mine done and it cost about $95.00. They basically have to have new Firmware (Software for the hardware) compiled and downloaded to your car. This is so in the future if you need the BCM (Body Control Module) replaced, it will already know that the car has these features added!
