I guess I'm lucky in the fact I know exactly what I want my car to look like, and never felt like a mod I made wasn't going to look great. To each his own. This seems totally ghetto to do to a brand new car, but if you like it go for it. Has anybody actually tried to take this stuff off yet?

Yes, I have and it comes of easily. Even a guy with no fingers can peel this stuff off. But it is durable enough to leave on rims for months without any wear.

this is what I ran into with doing mods to my car. I found if you spend $20.00 to get the look of something more expensive it always looks like you spent $20.00. my advice take it for whats its worth save your money and do it right. I tried painting the engine cover for $30.00 in plastic paint it looked like I spent $30.00. So I ended up buying one from the dealer saving nothing. Good luck.

I was planning on buying some wheels in a couple months but I wanted to see how flat black would look in person. I plasti dipped my wheels and loved it, holds up quite well. I used index cards around the lip.

Only problem is I ended up getting a dyno tune a couple weeks after and they strapped the front wheels through the spokes (which is fairly common practice, should've thought about that and sprayed them after the tune ). I'll just hafta peel and respray.

Almost as ghetto as putting 50 lbs of sand in your trunk instead of lowering it, LOL.

When I was spraying one of the back wheels, the nozzle clogged a bit and some of it got clumpy on the wheels. I waited for it to dry and peeled it right off and resprayed. Couple spots towards the inside barrel that I had to really work with my fingernails but still got it all off.

I felt the same way as you did initially about plasti dipping wheels. I thought it was a bit cheap and ghetto. But after seeing other people's results I thought this would be the best way to check out how the wheels would look in flat black. I'll be picking up new wheels in a couple months and if I want to sell these I can get them right back to midnight silver.

I should be getting my wheels in a couple weeks and selling mine. The plasti dip will also protect my wheel's finish until I take them off.

So in order to plasti dip the wheels all you have to do is to wash them clean and spray it on....would i have to cover the tires with painters tape? ...Any other useful tips?
Sorry if it sounds dumb but im a paint virgin
