Magnaflow axleback(16582) too close to differential? no room for wrench; fluid change
I have a Magnaflow Competition series axle back (muffler delete) with the 2.5" tubing and 5" tips. part # 16582
My issue is that there is no room for me to fit a wrench so that I can change my differential fluid. Does anybody else with the Magnaflow Axle back system's have this problem? It was dealer installed and came with the Camaro. The dealer says I have to remove the driver side pipe to change the fluid. Which I find to be ridiculous. I do take my car to the track, at least once a month. So I plan on changing my fluid every so often. Last edited by pdesanctis; 05-11-2011 at 04:25 PM. |

I have that same part number (installed it myself), and I don't have a problem servicing my differential.
Give me a few minutes to put it up on the ramps, and I'll take a picture for you to compare to your setup.

That would be great. I need some "proof" that the exhaust was installed wrong or that the tubing is bent ect.. The dealer said if I can prove it is isn't suppose to be that way then they will change it.

Here are the pics. I'm using the ubiquitous 3/8-inch drive ratchet with a 3-inch extension to go over the driver-side pipe. It's a little hard to see in the third photo, so I've circled it for you. The problem may be with where they cut the OEM pipe during the install, so I've included the first photo to show how far the tips should protrude from the rear fascia.
Hope this helps.

Perfect! Thank you very much. This is exactly what I needed. I think your right about where they cut the stock piping..
