I believe it's supposed to be on the 2011 model since it wasn't ready in time for the 2010.

Edit: Maybe it was an addition later in this model year....I don't remember for sure, but I'm sure someone else will.

RPO-
I saw you mentioned for orders placed by yesterday (3/3) they should be built by 3/27. I am going to put in my order tomorrow (3/5) and will be priority #1 at my dealer. This is a small dealer and is only allocated 1 through Q3 2009. My question is, will we probably miss april consensus since they were no sold orders in the system? My sold order goes in tomorrow (9:00 am), but I am assuming that is too late for GM to see when they allocate april consensus?
Thanks for this thread, it is very helpful.

They should get allocation wether they have orders in the system or not. And I'm sure they wouldn't have got one yet so they wouldn't have missed their window to use it. RPO can probably add to this more and correct me if I'm wrong.

Can we please keep ABL, hud, etc discussions elsewhere? I should've known bringing up ABL as a joke would only open a can of worms lol.

When I say orders "placed", that means they would have already been ordered and prioritized so when the dealer gets his allocation, the order would be "placed" or "preferenced". If your dealer had allocation yesterday for one unit, he would have had a buildable order to put in or lose it altogether.

Consensus for March is not open until this Friday for April production.

is that a universal thing or do some dealerships get consensus later in the month?

LOTS of new info here in this thread, it's great!

Ok, I called my dealer this evening, and he told me that they had no updates in their system for me (or any of the other orders) and that he wouldn't be able to see anything picked up until TUESDAY of next week. IS that correct? I am ok if it is, but if he is giving me the run around.....Does he KNOW ahead of time if he will be getting any allocation? Or will it really be until next Tuesday?

So I am going to have to get thru this weekend, and call him next Tuesday...don't want to bug the pee outta him.

Oh, and he did also confirm w/ me saying that the truck driver unloads the car, and gets the heck outta there.....he doesn't wait for anyone. The dealer knows to leave ALL plastics on the car, NOT to put a front tag on it, and for SURELY NOT to wash it.

I guess he was trying to tell me if he gets an allocation, it will show next Tuesday (not Thurs-Sat), and will be an April build???

Thanks again for all the great info on this thread...I would just like to stay one step ahead of my dealer.....if possible

???

RPO...i spoke with a few diff. dealers in my area and they said:

the first one sed that they have 6 allocated and if i ordered now i would be there 8th order...does that means i wouldnt be part of the first batch or orders and i would have to wait till august for them to actually put in my order? Getting my car sometime in sept/oct?

the second one said that they have no pre orders in yet and i would be the first...i mean its great news...but you know the saying when something sounds too good to be true it usually is...do you think its possible? do you think they are telling me the truth? should i trust their word? what should i do?!

and the third dealer said he had 10 allocations and only had a couple orders in...whether it be 2 or 5, making me 3rd or 7th...when do you think i would get the car? i just want it by July. Make things easier on this one...if i was his 10th order with a total allocation of 10...do you think i would i see the car before July?

Thanks for the info. I guess my thinking was if Chevy sees a sold order in the dealer's system they are more apt to give them their 1 allocation sooner rather than later.

I thought the consensus came out on Thursday...tomorrow March 5 for April production??? Is this not correct? Can I call my dealer tomorrow to see if they got an allocation for April?

Again to be clear:

The consensus opens this Friday and the dealer has a week to forecast and ask for product during this time. Don't confuse consensus with allocation.

The allocation is a four week schedule of what the dealer knows he will receive weekly and what orders he has to modify to meet constraints.

It's hard to explain but easy to see. I will try to answer each question in a new reply.

The consensus happens once a month for all dealers. This Friday is the opening of consensus. This is when you ask for product from GM.

When you say dealer, do you mean salesperson? If so, chances are he has no idea about consensus and allocation. It's not his fault. Management usually handles those things and salespeople take orders. Doesn't mean all salespeople don't get it but most don't.

That being said, the final allocation for this month still has another week to go. The dealer can run his final allocation report and see if there is a Camaro to modify by Tuesday. He will know if he runs a Pass One (now you know what that is) either Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Again, a salesperson ust may not know and his manager does. That's probably what's going on.
