It is just black out paint. I believe it simply hides the mirror from the outside of the car. It really doesn't come in to play driving. It may just be there to block the sun above the rear view mirror.

Sorry, but there was nothing between gears.

But for all those impressed by that video........................that ain't all she's got. It was a poor launch and I didn't hammer the shift. Plus traction control was on. All done nice and legal like. Just good acceleration to red line up to and not exceeding the LEGAL posted highway speed limit.

Aren't entrance ramps nice!!!!!

You must not a have a mildly new car huh?

My 2004 Chevy Silverado has that exact same thing and its not noticeable from inside the vehicle.. Helps reduce sun/glare when looking into your review mirror...

No not at all. Nothing you'd give a second thought to. In the one photo from the drivers seat, it just frames the rearview mirror. So unless you are used to looking out your windshield ABOVE your rearview, its a non issue.

I thought zero of it until the earlier post on the black out. It is the same treatment given around the edge of the front, side and rear glass.

No not crazy, you just WANTED to hear it so you did.

And don't assume it won't, btw. It will. Compare the V6 launch video with the V8. I was harder on the V6.
