Actually just got home from the track lol my best time was 13.3 at 109mph with a 2.3 60 ft using the cars launch control I definitely did not like the sound that I heard and felt. So i dony think I will be using that anymore lol so I tried launching normally didn't work out too well as it is also my first time going down the track in a manual trans

Stocker is right. The entire race centers around the 60'. If you can't get outta the hole with a good time, your E.T. will never reach its potential. The video that was posted is a great example of what i shoot for, but don't always get. Launching a M6 perfect every time is difficult. Some guys like to hold the RPM's at a certain point and feather the clutch while trying to maintain the RPM's. I prefer more of a street light start, just faster and more aggressive. I start to bring the RPM's up while feathering the clutch at the same time. Depending on how it feels( like its gonna bog or spin), I can change the throttle or clutch to get the desired results.
Regardless of what others do, find what works for you. Seat time is the only cure for a great 60'. The better your times get, the more you'll want to keep racing to make it even better. Have fun, keep practicing and keep posting your progress.

I went to the track yesterday for the first time with my Camaro. Had a blast!
First pass, I tried launching at 2500 RPM and that just roasted the tires. So the second pass, I tried launching ~1900 (Was shooting for 2000 but didn't quite get it dialed in) and that bogged the car down horribly. Both passes netted a 2.3 60' :( Seems like my car (at least at that track) likes 2100 - 2200 RPMs for a launch Oh and also... the driver needs more practice with a manual!

hey guys this is what i ran...
R/T.....072 60'.....2.018 330....5.804 1/8...8.842 MPH....86.21 (only 1/8 mile) My launch was ok!!! not what i wanted but i did smoke another Camaro LS3 i raced just like mine!! hahaha he ran a 9.4 at 82mph. It was all at launch. Some guy actually told me that i did pretty good and better than most especially for it being my 1st time. I actually took the stability control and the traction control off. my car took off spinning but then gripped!! not to happy with my performance but hey it was my 1st time at the track with the car. i ran a 2nd and 3rd time and just took off the traction control and just spun like crazy!!! i could not get it to stick!!! Ran a 9.0 and a 9.1 worse and worse. my time to beat is now 8.8 lol!! Need more practice!!!

Short time is pretty good. Nothing to be ashamed about.

I think it's for sure a finesse thing to get these manuals off of the line. I went a few weeks ago only got 1 pass and had awful wheel hop through 1st, backed out a bit and nailed 2nd. Hoping to get back in a few weeks.

Trailing Arms are pretty much a must on an M6. That will get rid of 90% of your wheel hop. Good thing is they are relatively inexpensive and easy to put on and no need for an alignment after wards. You should really change out the bushing on the hub as well while you're at it.
Make sure to lower your rear tire pressure to around 25psi as well. That means you need to have an air tank or a way to inflate the tires back to 35psi before you leave the track.

You're going to be running into a slightly different animal with those 21" tires if they are run-flats. Not sure what to tell you on the psi for those.
Trailing Arms are still going to be necessary though. You'll be surprised at how much they help. I went with the Spohn Del-Sphere but there are plenty of Mfgs to choose from....BMR, Pfadt, LSR, etc. Once I saw the videos about the Del-Sphere I was sold. I would do it all over again. But take a look at the difference between the OEM trailing arm and an aftermarket one. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ighlight=spohn

Weird, no offense but shouldn't you M6 owners be running circles around us L99 owners, at New Hampshire Epping dragstrip I am running mid 13s with hot tranny and hot 200 degrees coolant temps all day in 70 degree weather with just a no tune Vararam maybe 335-350 whp still less than Ls3. The things is with the crapomatic, I mean automatic, I can't rev before takeoff or anything , a Pontiac G8 maybe GXP nosed me out lastnight with a low 13.2 vs my 13.5. Also my car always feels somewhat restricted at the strip like TM is really holding me back. At the strip my car never threw me back into the seat, however on the street it does in a very violent manner, could this be the heat killing my performance, this is after a 70 mile drive to the strip, sign in and then hit the track asap, with a 10 min cooldown for sign in only.
