2012 v6 Camaro mods?!

So with the 2012's just around the corner does that mean there will be a whole new set of products for the next year? I don't know too much about cars, so will having this new LFX engine make that much of a difference that a new version of the Vararam intake, MRT etc will have to developed?

Sorry if this has already been addressed I did my best to use the first

MRT should still bolt up to the new car... The intake might not work... I personally dont know the placement of the intake manifold and throttle body for the new engine. But if it's a bit lower or higher, then probably wont work. So yes, new parts will be developed for the car.

Yup, I'm going to need to make a bold note on my exhaust stick that the catbacks are for 2010 and 2011 models ONLY.

Pretty sure same ECM is used, so yeah you should be able to do tunes. Will be interesting to see what you find when you get your hands on a 2012

Nope. The LFX will be using the new Delphi E39 controller which is completely different. Fortunately I bought a 2010 Buick LaCrosse last year to get a head start on the E39. We found some great power tuning the Buick!

As a follow-on, maybe this means GM will tune the LFX less aggressively and give us MORE opportunity to make MORE power. Lol

I was told by several people that the new ECU will not be in the 2012's but the 2013's

I guess nobody really knows until the cars come out but I'd lay my money on the LFX having the Delphi controller. This is because the LFX is a flex-fuel engine, and the Bosch engineers (who designed the E69 in the 2010-2011 cars) know nothing about flex-fuel algorithms, whereas Delphi is an expert in it.

At any rate, if the LFX has the E69, we can tune it. If it has the E39, we can tune it. ;-)

Wow Vince thats news to me. I'm not doubting you, but I've heard form various people here (who've chatted with their techs) whom said it will be sporting the same ECM. Either way..no biggie.

If it uses the Delphi, and is easier to tune for more power then awsome! I'll just be more jealous lol.

If the LFX gets the Delphi controller that's actually good news for tuners out there because one of the big tuning software companies already supports it and the other has been said to be working on it.

flex fuel?? E85?? Delphi?? all im gonna say is that 2012 is going to be a whole another ballgame. Now I can officially say that I am dissapointed that I didnt know about this only on feb 9th when I purchased my 2011.
I believe vince is correct on this and not someone who heard from someone
I guess I will just have my finger crossed that E85 will work on our LLT. At least thats the only big power possibility I see on our 10-11 before going FI.
