Awesome. Thanks guys. Put my mind at ease. Had a rash of CEL with my K&N intake, took it off and they went away. Been paranoid it's going to come back with the VR and the sweeping tach (like you said rol, it's no more then 20-30 rpm or maybe a few millimeters on the tach up and down) was somehow related to the problem. Guess not.

With the new tune that just came out, the V6 camaro should be able to break 300rwhp now easily if all the standard mods are done. Thus being headers, cai, tune and cats. You'd be looking at about 390hp with the Vararam if you got the new tune. Unfortuneatly, the V6 isnt anywhere near as effecient as the V8s at the rear wheels.

I certainly hope no one sees a CEL with the Vararam. With the many different prototypes of the intake on my car, the only CEL happened when we forgot to tighten the hose clamp enough and popped the intake off the throttle body when we shut the hood. The various intakes have run from rich to lean but never popped a CEL while driving.

Anyone ask about a second group buy?

Seriously though, I think there's enough interest in the Vararam CAI to fill orders for many months to come. I've had continual piss-poor timing in catching the vacancies on the list and have no problem waiting if the product is good. I know that I prefer the appearance to the competition, and the design just seems to make sense.

Steve, what does a production run usually tally unit-wise? For those who didn't make the first list, is another in the offing?

Wow! Been a while since I checked the thread. Still no delivery for the group buy guys? This thing better live up to all the hype. And I hope it does. And I second the group buy #2 notion.

They plan to work over the weekend on any final adjustments. Next planned production parts run is first thing Monday morning. Those parts will have to be QC'd before they give the OK to start shipping.

I know y'all are tired of waiting so here's to hoping all goes well and you guys get these soon!
so with this delay and another production run does this mean that more intakes will be available to ship for more peoples or does the number stay the same and end at group buy list #12?(I think).

I hope not because this should have given VR enough time for more intakes.

total 50 - 70 hp added

I know It won't be 75 hp, but all these things plus a tune we could be at 350hp in a v6.

I'm just waiting to see some dyno's numbers.
The claimed HP gain from the BBK headers have been discussed ad nauseum .
The CNC TB, cat back, and headers will get you closer to 20 HP on the top end instead of 42-43 HP.

And it doesn't work like we want it to work. Adding mod to mod doesn't work like that. If an intake increases hp by 15hp on a stock motor and a set of headers by 20hp on a stock motor the increase isn't going to be 35hp for a header/intake combo. Without actually slapping it on the dyno there's no real way to know for sure. BBK's were 33hp increase at a point in the dyno run but it wasn't at top end. Top end was close to around 20hp, I believe. So headers, tb, and catback will likely see more than 20 but not by much.

Yep. Another example, GMHTP mag did bbk headers/cats did 22hp tops. Then added the bbk intake and only got 3 more. If done in reverse maybe intake could have been 7-8 and the headers only 15? So all up in the air.Combo'd or not Ive seen on dyno runs only 4-5 with axelback and max 6 with a catback.

that will be my goal but if e85 tune work on our LLT than 300 rwhp will be a piece of cake. We would have to start talking about clutch and other driveline components by than to support all that new power.

I've heard some L99 SS was only seeing low 300 range stock.

Sigh. Due to, well, life, I had to use a lot of my mod moneys for other things. So, my spot is open now. I think I was #21 or something? :(

I'm sure whoever gets my spot will enjoy the hell out of it though

If I get one of the richer ends of the run i'd be ok with that. Mine was throwing lean codes. But nothing since going back to stock. Still, crossing my fingers. Want this intake to work. My dealer swears up, down, left, and right that it was my K&N. And I can't fight them since the problem did go away since switching....

Also, anyone know where you'd have to mount an RX catch can to work with the VR?
