It not only rubbed where the buckle was it also rubbed where the belt was. If I buckled them then it would probably rub all across the seat, not just on the edge.

Thanks for the tip, SUX2BU. Yeah, I don't want any rub marks on the beautiful IO interior, that's what I paid $500 extra bucks for!! Thanks for the tip which will help me keep it like new.

Lol, ive had three guys who were all 6'3" or taller ride in my car with me, and lets just say that that was the longest hour of their life.

This. I did this in my 2001 Trans Am (rear seats pretty much worthless also). I never had a rubbing issue, I just like how it looks. So yes I fasten my rear seat belts....

I don't have a convertible, but this is one reason why I went with black leather interior so that dirt or marks wouldn't show up on it very easliey. I liked the gray and beige interior, but was just worried that it would show after a while.

This is what I do. Saw it done on some other cars at car shows. Did it once, and they've been buckled ever since

I'm 6'2 and rode in the back of mine for a while and was just fine.
wife was diving and she gives me plenty of leg room behind her.
