Cool Fell in my lap (long but good story)

This is gonna make some of you guys , some of you and some of you...but I wanna say up front .
I've been lurkin here a little while and joined recently , I have also been watching the Camaro saga over the past couple years and anticipating it's arrival as you have...but maybe not to the extreme that most of you have.
I didn't order one back in Oct and as of this morning I still hadn't.
I had lot's of things going on in my life which includes two cars already that spend rainy days and winters garaged, college tuition, mortgages etc... so another car for dads pleasure really wasn't in the works... but it's my nature to fixate on things until I begin to have a growth on my skull (remember the VW commercials a few years back) that's me.
My b-inlaw who has the same obsession tendencies that I have, recently traded his 07 Vette auto vert , for an 09 vette stick, coupe, and was talking to his dealer& parts supplier(he's authorized GM repair shop) about the Camaro and mentioned that his B-in law (me) was interested.
( I really wasn't), the guy said all of his were sold but he could get one.
I didn't order early and knew if I did now that I'd probably get it in time for the winter garaging with my Chevelles, so I was going to wait until the next round next year, but that didn't stop me from looking at all the pic's here, studying the process and ing.
OK I'll get to the point now... My B-inlaw calls me three times Tuesday AM, after the first two I knew something was up so I answered the third , he says "my guy has an early order Camaro that someone just backed out on....he left me a message and I don't know color model or anything ,you wanna know more"... my first response was no...leave me alone...then I hesitated and figured there's no way in hell... so what the hell, I told him I'm only interested in a 2SS RS IOM , stick with CGM stripes and IOM accented interior, there's no way it's gonna be that exact car so I don't have to worry about finding the $$$ ... right.... he tells me to stop by , the guy was faxing over some paperwork on the car.
I get there and guess what, 2SS RS IOM,AFM interior with theVZG LPO black stripe,UQA audio, Q9J wheels, VYX engine covers and B34 mats... it was ordered in OCT and it's mine if I want it.
I understand I can change the interior color and striping without affecting the order, I'd prefer the black rallystripes , but also prefer the factory install.
So..... should I ??

Dude, you are one of the luckiest people around! As long as there are no constraints on anything you want to change, you should do all the changes you want! Unless the car has already been pulled for production, you won't be able to change anything.

well, what is the event status of the car? ....

thats important!!!

If it is 2000 or higher, you are not changing the order!!! .... but you will likely have a Camaro before the end of April

If it is at 1100, you can change it to whatever you like.

If you don't want it, I bet there are people here willing to take it.... regardless of the event status

Thanks... I met with the sales MGR today (salesman wasn't in yet) and he said we should make changes asap. I think he feels it's gonna be pulled soon.

Yup, ensure your event code is still 1100 before you commit, otherwise you won't be able to change! Congrats! Welcome to the family

being a 2nd week order, if you're gonna make changes, you'd better do it quick because it probably won't be 1100 for long!
