HIDs, LEDs, LEDs, and more LEDs

Okay, so it's been a busy month or so of lighting mods. Ran into several road blocks which spread it out over a much longer time than I wanted to, but what can ya do? But now to what I've done.

1. HID retro-fit
Okay, so thanks to turboguy327 and caverman I decided to do an HID retro-fit since I didn't get the RS package. I have got to say I never want a car without HIDs after this. It wasn't too hard to do, though puting my headlights in the over sure was scary. I did use 8000K bulbs so they do have a slight blue tint to them, this picture came out more blue than it really is but it's one of the best pics I have of the HIDs:

2. Dual color headlight and fog light halos

All four white:

All four blue:

3. LED bowtie
This was another scary mod because I had to drill a whole in my trunk to run the wires, but it sure looks awesome at night (can't really see it during the day but who cares). Also the instructions AAC sent me to wire this up to work for 2 colors was wrong, so I had to do some research on relays and figured out what was wrong and they had one of the wires on the diagram going to the wrong post

Not braking:

Braking (it was hard getting good pics of this by myself, might need to get an assistant and get better pics in the future):

4. LED reverse lights
These are really nice especially when backing out at night since I have to do a 90 degree turn on my driveway and I can see SO much more now:

5. LED fog lights
nice and bright, and not the ugly yellow the stock ones were

So that's what I've been up to, if you have any questions or want any more pics let me know

Oh, I also added stealth front turn signal bulbs, when the lights aren't on they have a silver color, but are still amber when powered

Looks GREAT!!!

...BUT you have to be careful. Headlights that blue are illegal in most states. Companies that make them get around the laws by putting warnings on the packaging saying "For off road use only!!! May not be legal in some localities so please consult your local laws."

I wouldn't go over 6500K for color. Anything above that and you lose luminosity and risking a ticket as well.

Very Nice!

Take and post some pics of the cut-off from your lights up against a wall.

Did you end up using some Morimoto projectors? As for the bulb color, the good thing is that you can easily change the color if you decide you want less blue. If I remember correctly the bulbs are only about $35 for a set.

Looks like those are AAC halos as well.

Thanks. If you look at the cutoff lines I posted they really don't look blue, just a tiny tint. I do realize I lose a little luminosity but they're still way brighter than my halogens and haven't felt I've needed more light yet

Here's the diagram I got from AAC:

But the drawing is a little wrong. Instead of hooking up the middle 87A to the right 87; connect the middle 30 to the right 87. "To parking light wire" refers to your rear break light. "To highmount breaklight" refers to the 3rd break light, you can tap into this on the passenger side right next to the backseat (before you get to the trunk). If you have any other question let me know.

I got my kit from www.theretrofitsource.com. The Morimoto products they have are great quality. If you look at the pics I added of the cut off line you can see how sharp the Morimoto projectors are.
