Question OK noob question and yes I am embarrassed! lol

OK I am sure I am right, though I feel a little ignorant so do forgive this question please. . . . muffler delete and resonator delete are the same thing? Correct?

Thank you in advance

Muffler delete is generally just deleting the rear tail things I thought but hell while your at it you may as well remove the resonators?

I thought the mufflers had resonator chambers IN them and was unaware they're separate. Maybe I should look for pics of a full set of LS3 exhaust. . .

Thank you for your response, I am probably going to want the loudest deepest sounding exhaust possible, emphasis on DEEP for that rumble!

I think some people keep the resonators because they are technically mufflers and therefore in some states that can keep you legal with a muffler delete. All states are different, not sure what Texas specific law is on the matter but I do know there is no set decible rating on how loud your exhaust can be. Just says anything beyond reason or something like that.

They are different... Resonator on an L99 is very large and LS3 are small.

That's why I love good ol South Cackalacky. No inspections. Do what you want to your car. Only time it sucks is when you're behind a car that is burnung oil but that's what Camaros are for. Go around them.

Resonator on L99 is a huge but heavy ass thing. If you take it out you need to replace it with at least a X-Pipe which is what I did. On the LS3 the resonators look like small glass packs in front of the Pumpkin.

Red arrows are the CATS and blue arrows are the resonators. The mufflers have baffles and chambers depending on the model. Hope that helps.

No need to feel dumb at all. You're asking to learn!

LS3 has 4 Cats, 2 Resonators and 2 Mufflers. The Resonators are before the axle, and can be deleted for more tone. The mufflers SHOULD be deleted first to see if you like it. I did the Pypes Pype-Bomb kit as the muffler delete. sounds great. SLP has a resonator delete kit

Here's the L99 exhaust. You can see the resonator is HUGE!

I think the L99 resonators are so big because of AFM? Maybe?

Yep, that's what it's for. But my L99 has an x-pipe with Magnaflows and I don't hear any AFM
