Got my Zaino today

OK, Please forgive me if aready answered. Do you need to use dawn on
a brand new car the first time washing?...Also it seems I use to hear about
a 6 month period on new cars before waxing, is this true??????? Thanks

I've used just about every product under the sun and Zaino is very good. Are there other products that are as good? Yes. Check out autopia.com if you are truly hard core. I personally like to use varying grades of abrassive polish depending on the condition of the paint to remove any marring or imperfections before I even start to think about using Zaino. Investment in a Porter Cable polisher is a good idea, and is an easy way to accomplish this with out burning through your clear coat. Even an idiot can achieve great results.

There's no free lunch if you want a near perfect shine. Plan on investing a bunch of time. The results however are worth it. Shine on.

Zaino is nice.. used it a time or 2 but I've moved on to something I believe is a lot better than the Zaino products, also its pretty easy to use.

I've got a small amount of zaino supplies left that I'll use on my daily driver.

I'm sure Zaino is great stuff I've never used it. I clayed a car today with Mcguiars clay then there #7polish and there new NXT Tech wax . Use pleny of lubricant/detailer when claying. I'll try this Zaino when I use up my other stuff I've herd nothing but good stuff about it.

It depends. If the car dealer washed it before delivery there could be some marring in the paint. Most dealerships wouldn't know how to wash a car properly if one fell on their heads. It sounds anal but I'd rather not even have the dealer touch it before I took delivery. I've worked at dealerships in the past and in most cases wouldn't ever let them wash my car.

I've always preferred to clay a new car. There may be "rail dust" from transport, as well as any number of contaminants.

I tend to agree with some of your comments as well. There are some dealers whom I wouldn't trust, while there are others who have been very "open" to allowing me to be present when the car is received and prepped.

Some dealers may want to prep the car in order to catch any "issues" prior to delivery, and it'll protect you from them coming back and saying you caused it. At the very least, I'd ask them to wait until you were present before allowing them to prep your vehicle.

Put first application of Zaino on today, claybar was easier then I thought... it looks great! i'd take pictures but it's dark outside now... Next saturday I will do 2 more layers and then i'll take pictures! only 1 coat makes it look great, can't wait to see what it looks like with multiple layers!

Everyone has to understand that a clay bar only removes contaminents from the surface of the paint. It will have no effect on correcting the paint. If you have swirls in the finish the only way to permantly correct them is to use a polish to level the imperfections. Many products use a filler that fills in the marring. The only problem is that as the product wears the swirl marks will show up again.
