Nothing compares to that first drive............ until the second, then third.........

The first time I slid behind the wheel of the dealerships V6 demo car I knew I would never part with my car once I got her. I've had sports car's since I was 17 and never got the feeling out of one of them that I got from just getting behind the wheel of this new version of the Camaro.

I've had that dirty "M" word, Camaro's and Corvettes in the past, and none have had that "it" factor that the new Camaro has. You've felt it, so you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's more than just the feeling of pure power from mashing the go pedal. You take on a different persona in this car.

I've had my car for nearly two years, put 35k miles on her and have had zero regrets. Why? I ordered her just the way I wanted her. I got every (available) option that I wanted. Do yourself the same favor and find the exact car you want. Don't leave the "what if" factor on the table to take away anything from the pleasure of owning and driving your new Camaro.

As for that missing option, GM has finally got it right and released it. I will soon have my car exactly the way I ordered it. It has taken 22 1/2 months of waiting since delivery, but the smiles have never faded. Every time I turn the little go switch, everything else just seems to fade to black.

Enjoy the search. Take the time to get it exactly the way you want it. She is out there waiting for you.

That's because the L99 bait is too weak to land a real LS3.

It was my subtle bait. A lure, instead of dead bait. I guess I needed a more colorfull lure. Just gotta keep the game wardens (mods) apeased.

Your post made me recall the silver '09 5th gen I drove (you read that correctly) - LS3, 6 speed. I had driven the auto and was kinda wondering where the horsepower was. When I drove the LS3 stick -OH MY GAWD! Perma grin is putting it lightly. I absolutely LOVED the LS3 Stick car. Made me WANT a Camaro even more.

I can only compare your feelings to driving my friends 2002 auto Camaro SS with center exit exhaust. When that black beauty pulled up in my driveway I had a giant grin that grew into a feakishly huge grin when my buddy tossed me the keys. I loved how that instant accleration forces you back in your seat. I can only imagine how much better the 5th gen outperforms the fourth cause I refuse to drive one until mine is delivered(whenever I can finally order one).

1) Go change your underwear and shower up.
2) Hurry and find an LS3 you like!

I still get 'Perma-Grin' behind the wheel of any new Camaro - but some of our members here will tell you that you DO bond with your Camaro.

My Beloved Thor? Each time I hit the door locks and his headlamps come on - it's almost like he's saying "......hello! Where have you been? I'm ready to rock - where do you want to go today?" --

......and then I hear that familiar 'voice' of his LS3 - and it's almost like talking with an old friend.........(.......well - in my case - it IS an old friend!....)

Good luck with the search - NOW you know why so many of us walk around with a silly grin on our faces!

And lest you forget! Wear your seatbelts - each time, every time!
Yessir! Thank you man, I certainly am a firm believer in seatbelts as they've saved my life once already! Man I love all you guys involved with creating this BEAST! THANK YOU!!!! (I'd so bear hug you right now if I saw ya!)

Agreed! though I admit after driving one with no sunroof I did like the head clearance.

I was trying to be nice to PQ and all auto drivers on C5 HAHAHA My buddy Mike has a 2SS/RS A6 tapshift modded that I get to ride in and drove 1 time. . . . UHM the LS3 made say HOLY S#!T though! Sorry all I think I've always liked the control with that extra peddle! Been using clutches since I was 12 HAHA! The L99 is VERY nice though, no actual hurt feelings intended here LOLOLOL!

Reading this makes me wonder why I'm sitting at a computer instead of being out driving my camaro.

That did it. I'm going to go snatch a couple of gears!

No offense to the L99 folks, but after 30 years of automatics, I am so glad I bought the m6.

Seriously, keep looking until you find the car you just have to take home. You'll be glad you did.
