Be back in a week to get whatever updates. In the meantime I want to leave it at this. I think I speak for more people than will speak up that want it done and thought it was done. People are putting off other mods, tunes, dynos and some of us have money already tied up in this. I don't really understand the need to datalog thousands of miles cross country and wonder if driveability was a problem, whether that involves a CEL or two or whatever. I don't believe the guy in Denver is going to expect the same uncorrected numbers as the guy in Houston. I hope the problem is found and hope that they could give some sort of idea occasionally as to what the status is whether it be daily or every other day or whatever.
Let the hugfest continue.

Dude if you are so hard up for an intake, get your money back and get a cone on a tube. otherwise just wait like the rest of us. I've personally been waiting over a year for a V6 Vararam intake and if it takes another year fine.

Now they didn't say what April, but considering it was April 2011 it was reasonable for me to believe these would ship the end of April 2011. At this point they aren't rushing any product out to keep anybody happy so I wish you'd stop saying that. I'm not happy as it was a product that was portrayed to be complete so I wish you guys would stop trying to baby them. I've already paid the bill and would think they owe us some sort of timeframe to expect it or what is going on other than they're find more "power". I didn't set the ship dates and adjust it 3 or 4 times only to see said ship dates come and go.
dude - you're obviously pissed, so call the vendor and get your money back. The ship date has been missed; I don't imagine they would refuse you a refund.

This isn't the first intake they've put out. They didn't see possible "shrinkage" prior to giving the first ship date? They haven't updated with a timeline as to whether they have a second run of parts happening or not. They dropped the ball and you want to treat them like a shakeweight.
Shrinkage? As in the business term meaning "Theft / loss of materials" or actual physical reduction in size of the parts once they're in use?

When plastic parts are injected into a mold they are at 500°F and are rapidly cooled to 100-140°F. Once released from the mold, the part can deform from the mold shape due to residual stresses from the cooling process.

I understand the frustration of the paying and waiting game. But as a once V8 VR user, let the guys get this as close to perfection before releasing. If they were to release something with flaws after waiting this long, it would be disasterous.

It's really too bad for VR that info was out before the product available.

I find the complaining on here annoying as well. The frustration is understandable since everybody is so excited, but it seems to me like most of the people complaining don't have experience with engineering or creating anything technical that hasn't been done before.

I see this kind of thing happen all the time with programming projects, etc. People bug the crap out of you to provide dates so much that you end up folding and throwing a best guess out there. Then, they get upset when you can't meet the date you predicted. Unfortunately when you are doing something that is really new, it's very hard to predict how long it will take. Things always come up and designs need to change, even if you've built in some slack time. Trust me, it's better to get a quality product then to get one that is half-assed (Windows Vista anybody?).

Just try to remember, if it wasn't hard then everyone would be doing it and they could tell you exactly when it would ship. But nobody would be excited then.

Amen. All I can keep thinking about, growing up playing PC games and working with a large gaming organization for a while, is how apathetic I am to delays. I'm just used to it I guess. Yeah I really want this intake, there's a lot of questions with my car that are up in the air (my cel problems) that that I can't put to bed 'till I get this. But you can't exactly 'patch' hardware, unlike a game where you could rush the product out with a few bugs.

But hopefully this doesn't become the proverbial "duke nuke'em: forever" or "TF2" of the camaro world. But I have full confidence we'll have these in our cars by the end of the month or so.
