PFADT vs HOTCHKIS

Hi All,

I am planning on purchasing one of two lowering kits.
I wanted to ask for your opinions with respect to which kit I should buy, and/or information / experience I should take into consideration.

PFADT Race Eng. Stage 2 Performance Kit
(or)
HOTCHKIS State 1 TVS

Both kits basically come with lowering springs and front and rear swaybar replacements.

Thank you in advance for your time and feedback. I appreciate it!

FK

Both are good kits !

Hotchkis is a 1inch drop
pfadt is a 1.5 inch drop I think

Both are very good companies and are proven.

question is how low do you want to go ?

Our spring kits lower the car 1.25 inches. We went with 1.25 inches because during development we found that anything lower than that really puts the stock shocks in a less than optimal place in it's travel. We wanted to develop a spring and sway bar combination that really improved the handling of your car without requiring new shocks.

The Camaro has a ton of understeer built into the stock suspension system, our stage 2 package restores balance to the handling and leaves the vehicle with a more aggressive stance. Below is a video we made demonstrating the difference in how the car handles before and after sway bar installation. The Camaro really does come to life after a set of sway bars!

The Stage2 package really is a huge change over stock, and we have many many happy customers with that particular package. For a street car that may see an occasional trip to the drag strip or track day, it's great.

FijiKid - We vote for Hotchkis, but we're biased. We have a lot of happy customers. Our springs drop the car 1" front and rear, which allows for lower stance, but not too low. Our springs and bars are a great balance for the street and driving events.

Here are a few Camaro5.com members and happy Hotchkis customers:
First Place Autocross - Trish Byrd

First Place Autocross - Rob Byrd

First Place: Total Event Win (Autocross and Drag) - Rick Andrade

Here's an install video with a little driving fun afterwards:

Just to throw our vote out there as a fellow Cali Camaro owner and tuner..... We have had nothing but rave reviews after we install the PFADT Stage II kit for our customers.

Plus given every option out there for our own shop car, we paid for our complete Stage V PFADT kit!!

I would also have to say I have sold ohhh probably over 100 PFADT kits, and have had excellent reviews. I think the literature is robust on this forum about their products and the features advantages and benefits!

This is a personal favorite video of their products in action! Please let me know if you have any install or specific questions, and if you're in the market for purchase we are happy to help get you free shipping and or other offers we are running!

Regards

Both are great companies and you won't choose wrong between either one. It's probably going to come down to if you want or care about a 1" vs 1.25" drop and/or which kit fits your budget the best.

i cant speak for Hotchkis and i'm sure its a good product, but i can highly recommend Pfadt.

i had the Stage II put in a few weeks ago and it has to be one of the best mods i have done so far. Cornering is tight, the low agressive look is sexy, and it drives great.

Both make an excellent product and Hotchkis is a very well known brand name but, like I mentioned in our PM conversation, Pfadt makes an outstanding product at a reasonable price point. We have set up a lot of Camaro5 members with Pfadt suspension and have never had a disappointed customer.

I ordered my Pfadt Stage 2 yesterday morning, and the boxes were sitting on my porch when I came home after work today. I didn't even have a chance to do UPS tracking online! That means two things: you had everything I ordered in stock, and you got it out the door same day.

This is my second order and both times I have been very impressed with your customer service.

Thank you for your suggestions regarding suspension and other system improvements so that we can become a little more competitive during the upcoming autocross season. We were already having fun, now we wanna get through those cones with authority!

Since you did not ask about my favorite vendor, I will keep the answer to the question at hand.......Pfadt. They have great products and exceptional customer service.
I also know a lot of people are very happy with Hotchkis, and I have nothing agaist them. I just have no personal experience with Hotchkis.

Thank you.

Thank you all for your chiming in and providing feedback. Honestly, I really appreciate it. After reading all your replies, and speaking to my shop tech. I did decide to go with Hotchkis.

Although a little more pricy, I would rather go for a 1" Drop rather than a 1.25". - Main reason.

I will be sure to post some before and after pictures.

Thanks again for your help!

Ok....not knocking anyone or pointing any fingers about pricing or anything but I will say that when I did my research back when I was looking for springs Hotchkis was definatley cheaper. That was a small portion of what made me go to Hotchkis over Pfadt. I think I saved at least $50 on just the springs. Although price alone should not be your deciding factor I'm just surprised you found Hotchkis to be more expensive.....unless the guy you're getting a quote from put a nice markup on them.

You might look around at pricing some more. For Hotchkis stuff I found that Maryland Speed or Apex always had a very good price or if you can find someone with a racer's account at Jegs that was definatley the cheapest way I found to buy Hotchkis stuff.
