Btw, I think all total we had 7 green ones at that track...and I know of 5 more that weren't at the track....

Hey my pleasure! Has anyone heard of the Winged Warrior event at Lucas Oil Raceway (IRP)? Benefits Riley Hospital for Children. I'm registered to compete this year, but might just do the show portion if we could get a group together. Would be nice to roll in there 10+ deep...

If anyone's interested, I believe there's still club space available

The Winged Warrior event is being ran by a group that splintered off of the Southside Mustangs. I know of most of the people running it, and because of my respect for the Southside crew, I'm not participating.

I also already work at Riley, so its not really something for me...

This is the second time I've heard something like this, lol. Maybe I should just skip this thing and mail a check to Riley. No loss for me, and there's plenty of action coming up in July...

What the hell.... Opening Day happened already? Dammit, I didn't get a call from my dealer this year. :( Looks l'm gonna have to call them and ask them if they even got any invites...

Well, I generally chill with a lot of the Southside Mustang crew at both the Suds and O'Reilly Auto Parts on US 31...after the Suds...

A few people apparently wanted to take over the club and do things differently, it happens to every club at some point. Some win, some don't...

Needless to say, the Mustang guys are for the most part, a really good group of guys. Good natured ribbing aside, they're willing to help out in a moments notice in most cases..

Yep, that was me. I got my invite for the night before the race, so I'm all set.
I know last years Opening Day there were 150 Camaro's and this year about 119 from what I heard. Now, for this years Camaro/Corvette Rally it sounds like only 50 of each will be invited. Last year there had to be close to 500 total. Someone said that since this is the 100th year, they were keeping things close to that number.

Glad I got in.

Saturday - May 28th, 2011
Corvette/Camaro Customer Appreciation Night
Indy 500 / Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Time Line Below :
2:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Customer arrive at Hare Chevrolet
3:00 p.m. - Registration and Sign Waiver
3:30 p.m. - 50 Corvette and Camaros with Police escort to IMS
5:00 p.m. - Arrive Gate 9a Drive one lap single file on track
5:30 p.m. - Dinner, Entertainment and Guest Speaker

I may head to this if the weather is nice (i.e. NOT FRIGGING RAINING). However, I live just past 116th and Meridian so it is a short drive for me.

Dealer called me about going to the event on the 28th. Bluestreak, you should give them a call. The guy who sold me mine doesn't work there anymore, and the new guy knew nothing about the event.

Thanks for the info! Unfortunately, at this point it wouldn't be possible to request time off work if I did receive an invitation. If I see that I do happen to get that day off by mere chance I will be sure to give them a call.
