Let's go with all three and that way you don't have to watch anymore. I'm not defensive, I am surprised but not defensive. What is funny is that those who disagree with me feel they are entitled to their opinion but apparently I am not entitled to mine.

Forum psychology I guess.

It's actually a shame that I'm going to have to head out soon, but unfortunatly my day is at an end. I'd love to keep this going but to be honest, there are really no more holes that I can poke in your rant.

I hope you find the Camaro super car that you are looking for without having to do anything to make it that way, I really do. Unfortunately I don't think that GM is going to be the one to build it for you as you are a VERY VERY small portion of a much larger demographic that they are targeting.

I can't see why so many people disagree. I think Huffer has a point, and it's his right to state it. Meybe there are enough people who feel the way Huffer does. If so, it should be a huge success. I'd love to see GM have even greater success on the heels of their past problems, this might be just the thing. Small demographics can make a huge impact sometimes. If them rubes who make jeeps can do it so can Chevy!
Come on team Chevy, what do you say? Gonna let Jeep get all the glory? How about a Camaro Grande for the supermuscle fans hmmm?

I would say this in an open letter to Chevrolet....one of my other hobbies are Jeeps. Jeep for years built shallow versions of what real Jeep enthusiasts wanted in order to satisfy the bean counters. They would never build a Jeep Wrangler that was actually a very capable off-roader, at least not REAL off roading.

For years Jeep enthusiasts asked for stronger axles, they asked for locked differentials, they asked for capable suspensions etc. Jeep never built it and the aftermarket prospered. Jeep FINALLY capitulated and built the Rubicon. They built it almost begrudgingly and expected it to be an utter failure due to the costs involved. This model featured Dana 44 axles front and back, electronic lockable axles, electronic swaybar disconnect....in other words...a very capable Jeep.

It cost more sure...but Jeep enthusiasts FLOCKED to this model Jeep and purchased as many as Jeep could make. The extra price tag made this model very profitable for Jeep and they continue to build them today.

I want a Camaro with a stout clutch, performance suspension, a rock solid set of axles and 500 damn horsepower at the rear wheel. I'd like to buy it and race it....not modify it just to make it capable of running with the big dogs. Don't get me wrong, the base SS is a nice car but I'd gladly pay more for a better axle, a stronger clutch and a strong motor.

Learn from Chrysler/Jeep....one of the most inept companies ever....listening to their enthusiast base was a very profitable move for them.
================

I thought SLP was building this car you mention as an aftermarket GM upgrade with full warrnty intact.

I'm not hating on this car guys....no need to pucker up like I am a Mustang owner here......but all you need to do is look at how many aftermarket suspension pieces, clutches, axles etc are being sold just on this one site and you can see that there is a market for a souped up version of this model.

sure, there has been a large upgrade of aftermarket prts for the Camaro since 1967. It was called HotRodding where you do it yourself to suit yourself.

+1 Troll alert. Chevy is building the car he allegedly wants, the ZL-1. But he wants it now. Silly.

Do not feed the troll.

I haven't seen any 12 second sleds at my track...but maybe they are just all at other tracks. I don't know why you are getting so torqued up if you don't give a crap....just leave my thread alone if you don't care.

4th Gen Cars I can assure you were not running 12s off the showroom floors. No way in hell.

The problem is you want a car that is basically a track prep supercar which is not very conducive to the business model for this car. GM isn't going to make a 80k camaro that doesn't run well in daily situations. Its a money loser. The ZL1 is going to be the most robust camaro ever made. But it is still built to be able to take you to work and get some groceries.

For the things you want YOU have to built that car. You pay to play, so your warranty may be gone but that is the risk you take for tracking a car, and GM shouldn't have to pay for it.

There are plenty of cars out there that will support the desires you have but you need to pay up. The camaro isn't in the segment you want it to be.
