You are the man Hob!!! you got us some extra track time When we stopped at the finish line the watkins glen crew came up to 1HOTSS and myself and she was so confused on what happened. She explained that their was no cones blocking the "shortcut" and he admitted that they should have been there and understood what happened and that it was no big deal what we did since the cones werent in place.

Yes that was me, we stopped in Geneva for some dinner after a detour around a railway crossing that was stuck closed!

True, there were no cones and as I could not see which way anyone else had gone I just went right! Then I was like where the hell is everyone!

OK BIIIIIIG POST.

Big post I know but worth the read.

3:45 wake up call found the freshly detailed car had been desimated by rain... so a quick run thru the local “Sack-O-Suds” car wash and top off the tank was in order. WOW gas went up overnight…no surprise. I rendezvoused with Jeff2011 across the way at the FORD dealership and found him Wizzing into the tank of a mustang (kidding) , but he was wearing the wrong shirt again (LOL). I love this guy!!
We bolted out with Jeffs Uncle in tow and linked up with the rest of the gang at various points along the way. Funny thing about a caravan, the bigger it gets the faster it goes YEEHAA. We piled into Penn Yann (the local constable eyeing us up suspiciously but with good cause) and connected with the rest of our Detroit arsenal.
NOW IN FULL FORCE we were ready to assault the WINDMILL….buuuut we got split up and not in a tactical assault decision way either. Spike introduced our rag-tag fleet on a “spirited” run down a back road short-cut which seems to have been designed by an engineer in a pretzel factory….and that’s a good thing!
Our game of “Hunt the Wumpus” eventually brought us all back together where we continued on to the show in RAPID mode, sucking up Amish farmers trying to cross the road to get the mail.
Our arrival found a BOG of mud but some fast negotiation put us on higher ground.
We lined em up like Souix Indians on the ridge overlooking Custers men in the valley, prepared to dominate. Dominate we did with some of our newest members and some of our vets taking awards…the “GREEN TEAM” cleaned house pretty well with the Synergy cars. A great time was had lolly-gaging around looking at cars and tradeing info. I went off to the craft market in search of a chair and came back with a lamp(???) and a gut full off polak food/ italian food/and any other food cause it was all so good.

I waddled back to the show and the call to arms was made around 3pm or so to “Storm the Glen” and we set out once more for victory. The stop lights of town acting like a GUILLOTINE to our traveling band of misfits but none the worse for wear we all made it.
After a little time for some photo OP, some bling purchase in the gift shop and some C-5 Graffitti on the Pace Car Camaro ..we were ready to run! I wish Watkins had blocked off the nascar course a little better as some of our back in the pack commandos took a wrong turn (or right depending how you look at it) and found themselves being chased by the pace car. How do you get lost on a race track LOL!!! (Simple...they forgot to set out the damn cones!!) All this made for some tense braking but no paint was traded so its all good! A little more photo op on the start/finish line then one last hot lap, snuffing the Dodge Challenger group as we went by and informing them the race was over and they lost!!
The fleet broke down for the day and some of us headed off to McClarks for supper.
Winding our way thru some of the most gorgeous scenery in NY we encountered only a few civilian blue-hairs in subarus and prius’s that Mark says he attracts like Gnats.
That was until we hit town……(and ya know where this is goin!!)
We slinked past the local prom sides of beef in thier gowns and moo-moos, shortly there after IRONWILL blipped the throttle on what we NOW call “THE RED RASCAL”, nearly sending a dude to the promised land but more humorously causeing him to wear more of his cherry slurrpie than consumeing it! Not enough fun he then “BLIPS” the “little old lady from Passadena” standing on the curb, causing her to launch like the shuttle…3CAMAROSONHAND sails past unscathed leaving me the full rath of her fury.
I didn’t know old ladies gave fingers and cussed like sailors???
Regardless we trudged on until we came to what appeared to be the ONLY PUB IN TOWN. It looked like CHEERS for rednecks. With tankards of ale in hand they all stood outside whooping and hollering to light em up.

In fear of being killed and eaten ....I obliged them by roasting the hydes, pinstripping the road and leaving the smokey/ rubbery taste of two “Stolen-from-Andy” tires in their mouth.

This precipitated a fuel stop… 1HOTSS (and she is) apologized for the short starting/stopping in traffic..NO NEED to apologize, I've done this for years and its part of caravaning!! Wait till Oshawa..

Our dinner was much better tasting than the Pirelli Sufflee I had just layed down.
Mark and Teresa had an awesome meal of fried chicken and all the fixings at their place (which is gorgeous BTW). THANKS GUYS!!!
Late into the night after playing with our LEDS and recounting the day we set off into the darkness like zombies for home….uneventful ride thankfully but exhausting and well worth it!!
This is the best car club period! Thank you to all who attended, I look foreward to reading your adventures and congratulations to our trophy winning members!!!

2011 windmill/ glen

It was a great day and once again camaro5 had a awesome turnout. Im glad the rain held off for the day even though we DID have the mud but still it was a great time, it was good to see everyone again and meet some new. At the Glen I just wish I had been a little farther back on the course for the "extra lap" -pure insanity (in a good way) congratulations to the plaque winners.

Thank you for welcoming me into your group!! The entire day was fun and the track run was definitely a great experience. I hope to make it to the next one and this time i'll know what i am doing! Of course, that doesn't mean i'll drive it any faster!

Glad i could follow Hobgoblin and help out with the extra lap!
Phantom- that little village saw me on the return home, only they happened to be having a car and tractor parade and i seemed to drive right in behind them- the streets were still lined with parade watchers. I pulled up behind a Corvette and the dudes were yellin to him to drop it and he kept shakin his head no. I couldn't let them down, so i stopped right in the middle of town and put on a show- i had cheers all around!! that just topped off my night!
