well, first of all thanks to everyone, for both kind gestures and well, calling it how it is.

just found out today that it'll be another 24hrs before I find out everything. They're going to look into damages and then hopefully tomorrow I'll know even more about whats happening.

All the blame is insane. He didn't crash because he turned TC off. The dude with the Mustang didn't crash because the township slacked on maintenance. Both crashed because they didnt know the ability of the car and were driving too fast or horsing around.

Stop blaming the car (or the township) because YOU screwed up.

You're right, you can't fix stupid but with the onslaught of all the nannies, people think they can go out, buy a 400hp car and drive like they stope it and EXPECT the car to keep them from crashing.

Learn to drive your freaking car. The best way to do do is SLOWLY. Don't expect to jump in and be Mario Andretti the first day. I've been driving performance rear wheel drive cars for over 10 years. It takes time to learn how, what and when the car is going do!

I'm going to be the first to admit that I'm too stupid to drive with TC off. This is my first 426 HP car. I'm going to leave it on until I've had hours an hours of performance driving experience in a safe environment.

I have to agree with those who have said that you need to familiarize yourself with your car, even tc won't save you. My car is nearly 20 yrs old, makes over 440rwhp and the only real "safety feature" it has is a driver's side airbag. I have NEVER lost control of my car, calm down OP and get some time in at the track or a non-public road course....

This. This a lot. I've turned on competitive mode and I've turned everything off, but every time I do it's always deserted, and I always end up sideways. I've got nothing to prove to anyone, and besides I'm confident behind the wheel with the nannies on, and it's still insanely fun to drive.

One of these days I'll find myself at a track or in a driving school, but until then the nannies are on unless I'm in a deserted and lamp-post-less parking lot!

The OP is my kinda guy. You messed up homie. Let's hope the frame hasn't failed anywhere. Looks like its limited to an axle (you think!?) control arm, rods, rim and whatever interior damage via the airbag. Oh yeah AND YOUR PRIDE. When you are ready- purposefully DO IT AGAIN. Feel what went wrong and assimilate that info. It will make you a better/confident driver from knowledge not bravado. Been there and you'll feel like a lil beesh til you do.

You can drift if you wannooo ! You can leave your friends behind. Cause I'm gonna drift and if you gon' lift then you ain't no friend o' mine.

Best part about your story is the moral you've learned.

I too leave my nannies on unless I am purposely horsing around which is not very often. You never know when there will be a object in the road or some other situation where quick and precise crash avoidance driving is needed. The nannies will definately help in those situation. Here in Columbus I come across pieces of lumber, furniture, tires.....laying in the freeway seemingly all the time. Now come at one of those objects in the dark at 75mph in the rain and try a quick lane change without wrecking your shit....nannies help even the BEST of drivers. I waited until it had rained one day and found a empty parking lot and messed around throwing the car aroud a little. I haven't done it on dry pavement yet... Tires are expensive, I will tear it up more once I need another set of tires.

I understand what you're saying..........

But think about this: We have test drivers - guys and gals that have been doing this for YEARS - and THEY still get a surprise now and then.

Even racing drivers get a surprise now and then - so no one is immune to having a 'surprise' suddenly thrown at them.

Keep in mind - YOU may have control of your car -- but a car suddenly darting out in front of you may upset the apple cart - and THAT'S when stabilitrak takes over - and saves you.

The point is this: On a public highway - the T/C and Stabilitrak are going to be there to REDUCE the number of accidents.
