I think he meant more along the lines of a Corvette (C5, C6, whatever) for the same price as you would pay for an SS camaro.
Well then, if he wasn't insinuating that I should focus on the SS instead of the Z28 (in the Z28 thread) because one is actually being produced while the other isn't. Then that makes me a big ol poop head.

Obviously I thought other wise.

it basically started with this.

and the evolution of conversation moved to why buy one over the other, you mentioned a Z28, Zebra asked about the SS (that is a viable option to buy at the moment) vs buying a Z06.

not to mention... the Z28 thread is my avatar. lol

and no one is questioning that you are a big poop head....lol

Since we're in fantasyland about the Z28...

Would you rather have a 6 Gen Camaro Z28 with a nuclear reactor or...

... a spaceship?

You do understand this huge gap for long term camaro fans don't you?

And you do understand we want it to return as much as we want the camaro to return. You do understand the every generation has had a z28 right?

You do understand that I am getting sick of people minimizing the importance of the Z28 to those of us seeking its return. Right?

You do understand that I would never put any car ahead of a healthy GM right?

I feel better...

i completely understand where you're coming from. i ain't trying to minimize its importance either. it's just that we ain't even sure they're gonna make it for the time being, so i was just asking if you would take the currently-real Camaro SS over a Corvette because you mentioned

then the conversation went towards Spike's current situation: having to choose whether or not to get a C5 Z06 for less than the Camaro SS he's been planning on getting.

well... i sorta was going that way... not to belittle you or the Z28, but to focus on the fact that a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.
that don't mean you ain't a big ol poop head sometimes

So yeah, I'd still hang in for the camaro.

same here. i plan on keeping the car for a while & i do wanna have kids. having 3 or 4 cars ain't really necessary, so the Camaro can be a viable option - having back seats & trunk space

'75-'76 no Z28
'88-90' no Z28
just thought I'd add that.
Not every year has a Z28
or an SS

After more time in the SS, I've come to the conclusion that if I do replace the motorcycles with a fun car, it would have to be a Camaro SS. I've toyed with a C6 and even a C6 Z06, but that Camaro SS is reeeeeaaaally growing on me. It is just so much more comfortable to drive. It may not be as fast, but unless you are at a track or street racing, it doesn't matter. I am having as much fun with judicial use of the throttle in the SS as I've had in any Corvette.

That is really good to know. And you love the V6. So that's really a big compliment to the SS.
