I installed a short shifter from STEEDA (yes the Mustang guys), its the one with just the stick. It is fantastic! It only took about 30-40 minutes on a lift and made a huge difference. The cost was good and worth every penny. If you have worked on cars before you will have no problem...just take your time and read the instructions(hard for us guys, I know).

@ ALL Camaro enthusiasts...
I also just installed 2 more pieces that I got from STEEDA...their front crossmember brace and their Billet tunnel brace. Total install time, including jackstand setup and all, was about 35 minutes. The tunnel brace looks great and provides loads of clearance for my Flowmaster exhaust. The crossmember brace was super easy to install...2 bolts and 10 minutes! I dont know what difference it made yet, just installed about an hour ago, but I'm sure it will be great.

I told the STEEDA guys (Scott Boda is a real easy person to deal with) I would post my results, good or bad. Well let me just say that so far it's been GREAT!

I sicerely hope that STEEDA continues to broaden its line of parts for our 5th Gen because they really do have a First Class Organization!

Thanx Scott, tell your boss to read this....Scott deserves a BIG RAISE!!

Way to go STEEDA!!!

Cool, do they have a website where I can check it out? All I'm finding is the website for the Mustang parts. Thanks for the suggestion! Any idea for a reputable place to get the windows tinted?

Mattphp1 the parts are actually LSR Performance products. Steeda is a whole different company. They do not make Camaro products. We both ( Steeda & LSR ) use the same manufacturing company.

If there is anything i can help you out with please let me know.

Our website is
http://www.lsrperformance.com/

@ MAtt and everyone else,
STEEDA in Valdosta manufactures some parts for LSR...I misquoted when I said they were solely STEEDA. Still they are a great company. LSR is actually where the parts come from...they also are a great company with loads of performance products for our 5th Gens. I plan on buying all my parts from them from now on.

Sorry about the confusion...and no, I don't know a tint place in P-Cola. I do know a place in FWB where I had mine done, but nothing near you.

OK...since it looks like it might just be ckcamaro and myself.....maybe this weekend we'll go to Panama Beach Raceway instead. It's a lot closer for both of us than Holt. And their website advertises traction, traction, traction. We shall see.

Had a great time at the track tonight. Thanks to Chuck (ckcamaro) for hanging with me. It was great to meet Bradley. He's a cool new co-pilot.

Track started out pretty good (got my new personal best), but started to go to crap quickly. Then after the spectacular wreck of a turbo Buick....track got even worse. I'll post pics of the battered Buick too.

Soooo close to the 7's. I just know she's got it in her!!!!

Bad wreck at the dragstrip tonight....so be careful out there...make sure you have all the proper safety equipment. This guy was a little banged up (needless to say), but walked away.

Rick
He ran the right lane, and crossed the finish line at about 150MPH. Some folks heard a "pop" at about 3/4 track, but we knew something was wrong when he crossed the center line and hit the left guard rail twice (fortunately it was a solo pass and no one was in the left lane). Then at the end of the guard rail, car pulled to the left, hit the sand and rolled at least twice. All I heard about was he had a brake lock-up. He had all the right safety equipment though, so he was alright.

Track started out hooking WAY better than Holt ever has for me (did you see that 60 ft. time?? ). Started going to crap though pretty quick....right lane was worse from the start. All my better times were in the left lane. Chuck had the same experience.

I didn't log the pass 'cause something's up with my SCT...it doesn't "marry" properly with my car. Tony is supposed to look at it next Sunday at SGMP.

Sorry I wasn't able to meet up with you! I ended up coming down to Orlando at the last minute to play with Mickey... Glad to hear about your new personal best and that the Buick driver is ok!!! I can't get my PM's on my phone for some reason, or I would have let you know sooner!
