For the LT1 Camaro, is the SS model better than the Z28?

Because, if I can recall correctly, when it comes to the LS1 Camaro, the only difference between the Z28 and SS is the hood...provided that what I read is correct.

EDIT: Wait...did they even have an LT1 SS Camaro?

yes they had an LT1 SS. it debuted in 96. theres more to the SS cars than just the hood. they have a different intake setup (same manifold, different plastics) to work with the functional hood scoop. they had an SLP catback exhaust option as well as other visual mods, spoiler, wheels, etc.

the LT1 intake snaked back around and had the filter above the intake manifold and the scoop directed air right there. the LS1 had an intake at the front of the engine bay on top of the radiator and the scoop on the hood directed air back towards the front to the intake.

SSZ28's came from the factory with a little bit more power than the regular Z28. but with a few mods, you can easily add more power

This one requires a bit of creativity, but it?s pretty straight forward. Start by removing the intake elbow. You?re probably going to need to cut the clamp off the silencer, then remove it. Now you just need to find something to plug the whole with. I?ve heard some shampoo bottle caps and deodorant caps work or you can trace the shape on to some wood or aluminum and cut it out. Then simply insert the cap into the hole and use a new hose clamp to clamp it down. When inserting the cap, try to position it so it is flush with the surface on the inside of the elbow.
does this really make a difference?

DO NOT - use Fix A Flat - will rot rims
DO NOT - Overfill the oil(can break seals and other problems)
DO NOT - Go offroading
DO NOT - Drive into trees
I'm with ya on the trees. Bad for your paint

no, I was meaning that if your exhaust was loud, you wouldnt hear much of a difference in the intake noise/volume.
