Hey if it were easy we would all have one. Bruce is a special guy building special ride. These glitches will only increase the enjoyment when it is all dialed in.

Thanks so much everyone. Been a little busy lately. GTA can attest.

Appreciate all the well wishes. Damn, it'll be nice to drive the 'ol (notice the word 'ol) SST. 2 years now and still only 669 miles on the odometer...

Champ - Glad you made it through the bad boat accident. If you look at the Powerboat issues over the years, you will see our boats in the LOTO (Lake Of The Ozarks) shootouts. Miss going up there. Lots of craziness at 200+ mph.

I've seen a lot of stuff on your exotic missles , all good .
Has LOTO surpassed south Florida as a speed boat mecca ? In the early 80's and in my early 20's I gravitated to south Florida in search of speed and spent almost every winter weekend down there . I kept a boat there , hung out at Fort Apache some and lived the care free bachelor's life . Miami Vice was in , I was in and I'm still in . I actually raced with Don Johnson and Chuck Norris , different classes though and met James Caan , Jose Canseco and many others at Fort Apache .
Man I love those fast cats . Not to slight a fast car , only a jet fighter can surpass the rush of flyin over big rollers in a well balanced cat . Guys it's something you just gotta try to understand and it's definitely not for everyone .
Take care of business bro , your techs will soon have the SST setting off neighborhood alarms .

Look at the heat coming off the boat... Go big or go home

Charlene of Raymonds boats and yes that would be Fountain and Skater. Have you been to Douglas to visit with Peter?

Yeah that is what Lycoming T55L7's do - produce a lot of heat. One of the funniest things is when we first fire up at a dock. Everyone wants to be close, but you have to get them back because when the engines fire up the exhaust temp reaches 600 deg C in about 3 seconds which can cook a hot dog pretty quick and does interesting things with people's hair.

The designer knows Peter quite well. I personally have not been to the Douglas facility. Quite a few of my friends own/have owned Skaters. They are a nice cat. Reggie used to come park next to us at many of the races. He's a funny guy. Would bring a big tent and underneath would have a hot tub, a grille and a Lamborghini ...

No, that is a Gen 1 427 with and Alien intake. This is the SST dyno.

We only ran it to 28 psi and cut the pull short at 6,000 rpm since we didn't want to pop the head gaskets. We were still very happy that it hit 1450 hp already. LPE now makes a nice set of 6 bolt heads for future pulls up to 38 psi.

I was sitting next to Johnson at one of the driver's meetings , Trump Castle Atlantic City in '89 and he was a regular guy . No airs about him in that venue and he had some nuts , the ocean was rough , hurricane like , cold and they ran their Revlon 50 footer beyond the edge . After a couple of justified delays we ran due to pressures to get the ABC sports show filmed and unfortunately lost Kevin Brown of Team Skater at that event .
As unpredictable as the ocean is I still prefer that challenge .

Agreed. The boats have barrel rolled a few times at 130-135 mph in extremely high-g turns in rough water. Crazy but fun. At the Daytona Beach race in 2005 a driver of a 38 Formula was ejected in a turn and lost his life. When you push the envelope there is always a level of danger.

And to give you an idea - when a very prominent, experienced race team took one for a 210 mph run in FL before they bought it, the exact words were "We can't believe we just went that fast. Can you guarantee we can't get hurt in this?"
