well i say the SS has average sports car performance. cars like 370z, STI, evo, v8 mustangs etc are cars like the SS. those are all respectable sports/performance cars. those cars set the bar for newer sports car.

i feel vette owners probably do say our SS is slower on forums and what not. but hey its a fact!

2011 5.0 drivers are retards, they automatically think they're the biggest fish in the sea because their car has 5.0 badges on it. Now if you came across an older 5.0 then the one who wouldn't stand a chance would be the 5.0. Fox Body Mustangs & 94-98 Mustangs were real dogs only putting out about 220hp at best stock and only good for about a 14.5 quarter mile time.

GM offered a V6 and a V8 since the Camaros been born. I'm sure the V6 Camaros outsell the V8 models. I'm sure everyone knew what they were getting when they bought thier cars. Random people on the streets love the Camaro. The V8 has a little more WOW factor because their rare compared to V6.

Regardless of model they all look sweet rolling down the HWY. Most can't tell the diff between a V6 or V8 till they ask you. These cars are down right so bad a$$ that now we have to compete among ourselves. STUPID! This forum is for people that have a passion about the Camaros. Enjoy them, regardless of model.

Um, whut? Where'd you get THAT information? The Tootsie roll owl? Inline 6 perhaps. Unless you're talking about the "re-birth" of the Camaro having V6s.

When the Camaro roared to life in 67, about 3/4 were base-line Camaros so-to-speak, as SS and Z28 was far fewer production. But the 67 figures suggest that only about 57K and change were 6 cylinders and about 162K were V8. That's about 65% V8 issues. Hardly any 6 cyl. beating out V8 production.

With that said, I cannot recall a time that 6 cyl production outpaced V8s. But there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with a V6 if that's your choice. That's why they build them in various ways, so each of us can buy and enjoy our Camaros based on what we feel as consumers are at the top of our wants/needs list when it comes to options.

In fact, when I'm out and see a Camaro, I get excited anyway, regardless of engine. I'm just so happy to see people buying Camaros! Great minds think alike!
