I had one old guy(older then me anyway) with a vette not think much of the v6, but then again most old vette drivers dont do sqwat with their cars and barely do 65 on the freeway.Other then that only looks, good compliments and liking the v6 from everyone else. Our club out here 75% SS and not B.S. like from some SS folks on the forum.

This is so true! A 30MPH cruise doesn't matter what engine is under the hood of the car. Everybody looks and takes pictures.

Odd thing is us "snobby" SoCal people we can care less about trim, model packages. What really matters is who joins us at the meets and events.

I guess my 2 cents on this whole topic is I just hope the Camaro doesn't go the route of the Mustang... and by that I mean, for the longest time now my friends and I see more V6's and crappy Mustangs(old and rusty, not cuz there v6's) and it just turns into.... "O look a Mustang,...nevermind it's a V6 or just a beater." I think the Mustang is just too commercialized now that its just like any other Honda Civic or Toyota Camry, there is hardly anything special about it any more. Yes, I'm guessing more V6's are made but that what makes owning a V8 more rare I guess and how some people get upset about the whole V6/V8 issue. Now with Camaro's, at this point in time mostly everyone is "Wow, a Camaro!"(thanks mostly to Transformers haha). They don't care cuz it's awesome and prolly don't know how to distinguish between V6 and V8... Hopefully this doesn't repeat and turn into the Mustang, that's all I have to say about that.

Now with me personally, this is my first sports car(I'm 24 now)... and V6 never entered my mind and this is just my opinion so please don't quote it and then hate, but to me a "muscle car" is a V8 so that's what I bought one but don't get me wrong... the V6's still Fing rock and look amazing and are FAST!

I'm all about the V6/V8 love, just want more V8's around me in WI lol.

Alot of the Vette drivers mod their cars to crazy hp and still never do anything with them but putt down the highway. That cracks me up, and I'm a long time Vette girl.

My Vette friends do give me crap about buying the v6 Camaro. I say WHATEVER!

I average 16.6mpg but I can't keep my foot from stomping it and I get caught in traffic to and from work. So really I guess it's not too bad then

There's no difference between the Camaro and Mustang in that regard. Transformers merely started the mass commercialization of the Camaro. I saw three 5th Gen Camaros at a 4 way intersection this past Saturday, two of them were grey lol. You're pretty young, I don't know if you remember how common the 3rd and 4th Gens were in the 80's and 90's but they were EVERYWHERE. They will be everywhere again very soon, but it's not a bad thing. I can't believe there are still people that live in cities with a pop of more than 10K people that say the Camaro is rare.

I wish you slow owners would understand that HP isn't everything. It is actually a very very small part of the picture.

What is the torque on the slowt? What is the weight. Now compare with other cars. There is a reason the z06 can outrun cars with a lot more horsepower....

Get a clue boys and girls.

Following your incredible logic, your 2010 SS is a slow POS compared to a Lambo.

I admit my SS is slow. I don't parade it around thinking a 400hp v8 is the coolest thing ever.

I have a 400hp 3800lbs car. Yes I am slow, and I realize that.

Anyone who thinks either car is "fast" is very very uninformed and needs to get out and see what is out there. If we are going to compare our cars to other cars, let us compare it to performance cars, not everyday drivers on the highway. Go to a meet or something and you will see that although you might have the coolest looking car, you are going to have a slow car.

REEFBLUE i have known forever. His car will drag 90% of the people on these forums but you don't see him running around talking like some of these v6 guys do about how great his car is and blah and blah...

But you enjoy driving it, right?
It's still fun as hell when you put the pedal to the metal, right?

What it boils down to is the V6 is an amazing looking car with plenty of zip when you hammer it for a 23 000$ car.
