so we know the power and weight of a 2010 camaro ss (L99).
VS.
2006 BMW M5 5.0L V10 AUTO
500 HP
383 TQ
and weights about 4020 lbs.
all according to edmunds.com.

I'm guessing the Camaro will be beaten, but by how much? Close? A car length? several car lengths?

Here we go again. V8 off the line, V10 showing taillights a few seconds later. The SMG V10 will eat the Camaro if the driver doesn't fall asleep.

This is the only m5 whose tail lights you won't be seeing.

A quick search says 0-60 in 4.9/ quarter mile in 13.5@ 115 mph. Its a heavy car and lacks torque. For the 1/4 mile it will be close after that you will get walked. BMW M cars arent designed to be drag racers. But you can buy 3 Camaros for the price of one M6.

Bad thread name. Half of the people are talking about m5, the other half are about m6. Not huge lose in both cases. For ls3 and good driver ofc. Maybe even driver race with m6, cos it have more weight, then m5,

How hard the Camaro gets beat depends on where the finish line is since the M6 is a 200mph car.

Based on this then the Camaro is just as fast or faster in the 1/4 mile.

No, its only quicker not faster.

But that's due to the launch. Try it from a roll and see what a V10 shifting at 8,500rpm can do vs the LS3.

I have ls3, lt, Cai and I can beat the m5 and stay next to the m6..beat a m3 but he wasn't a good driver so looking for one to race
