Engine Cross Brace

Hey I am thinking about taking the cross brace off and either having it chromed or powder coated along with the bracket, has anyone taken it off or thought about it to make it shine a little more. Thanks

My dealer installed a black powder coated brace on mine for me. Evidently it's a common thing to either get just the ends coated or the entire thing.
Getting the entire brace coated is a bit cheaper since they don't have to bask th ecenter section.
I originally asked about chrome plating, and they told be they could do a silver powder coat, but that particular vendor doesn't do chrome plating.

I'm having mine wrapped in carbon fiber and the brackets that hold it painted black. My body shop guy said it should be fine to drive for a few days. Just don't take it to the track (which I don't anyway) or drive it crazily. Just normal everyday basic driving should be fine. I'm doing it tomorrow, so we'll see what happens.

I polished mine in about 2 hours. Sanded it smooth with 2500 wet paper and polished it with metal polish and a paint buffer.

Didn't have to take it off at all, so I guess I can't tell you from experience how it is without it. It was taken off and done right away and put right back on. Sorry.

Painted flat black brackets. Adhesive carbon fiber wrap. The heat from the engine really shrink wrapped the adhesive very tight. Looks great in person. Here's how it came out:

The carbon fiber looks cool too. I have been thinking about taking mine back off and painting the ends black. After seeing this I am thinking about it even more.
