Is SS Engine supposed to shake every 2-3 seconds at Idle?

So I'm SUPER Happy with my new 2011 SUPER Sports, 6 speed manual. Have a question tho...When I was test driving SS's, I don't remember the SS shaking every few seconds when the car was on idle. Is this normal for the 6.2L? It's not a terrible shake, but it's not smooth. It noticeably shakes every 2-3 seconds. Wanted to check others' experiences to see if normal before taking it to dealer. Thx all!

It depends what you mean by shaking. From what I'm used to, I would say mine is smooth.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Does it do it after a cold start or after you drive it for a while?

Mine shakes a bit at idle but I have an aftermarket cam. I don't remember mine shaking when I was stock but that's also been some time ago.

Nothin to worry about, just the characteristic LS shiver. My LS1 does it as well.

Yea sorta. My 2010 always has showed slight erratic idle at start up.After warm up though it idles steady.Nothing major just slight,no shaking at all.Have a 2SS auto, with cold air intake.Did it before and after the CAI.Almost like a plug is mis-firing.Only got 3900 miles on it so haven't had to take it back for anything yet. When & if I do I will have them check it out.Other's with 2010 models have commented on the sight with same issue. So probably pretty common issue.

This one did it too. Not as noticeable after installing the VaraRam intake.

don't worry about the car acting like a muscle car! that's the idle from the cam lope. watch your tach for awhile, you'll see that it dips when the shake hits. Then go and stand out behind your car and listen to the beautiful sound that idle makes. Then get in your car, find an open road, floor it.

yep, that'll resolve any of your concerns.

Mine does the same thing, even on a warm engine. It runs fine on the road and getting the mileage as advertised on the sticker - 16/24. I just think it's part of the engine's characteristics.
