History Channel

Have you ever turned on the TV, started watching, and then realized you've been watching the History Channel's programming for 12 hours without doing anything productive today? I just looked at the clock.

I do that every weekend during the winter months. It's not totally unproductive. If it's the History Channel, you can at least make the argument that you learned something.

What was on?

I'm a Historical Archaeologist.. so you pretty much described an average day off when I have nothing to do for me! haha. If I'm not watching the actual history channel I'm most likely watching DVDs from the history channel.

I find myself doing that with History Television (Canadian counterpart to the History Chanel) on the weekends near D-day & Remembrance day. That seems to be about the only time anymore when they actually have history based programming. The bulk of their stuff lately seems to be made up of either a documentary about people doing a tough job (logger, ice road trucker, ice pilot, etc), or something super natural (aliens, monsters, etc). About the only thing that I see anymore thats somewhat historical is Pawn Stars or their Sunday night movie.
