New SS owner, car has made me new man

New to the forum, excuse any redundant/newb ?'s

I've been trying to read as much as I can here. I just purchased a 2001 SS in NJ from dealer. Stock, but had exactly what I wanted. M6(most important to me), SS..obviously, bright rally red, nice chrome rims, 80k, no rust holes etc.

Consider me fairly new to racing/modding/owning a badass car. My rents had an 85 auto IROC that I had tons of fun with and made me love Camaros. I have always wanted an LS1 SS. My dream came true today. I drove home my baby after looking for months. I live in VA, but had to go to NJ to grab what I wanted. I'm pretty happy with my purchase although miles are *slightly* higher than I would like, for the price I was very happy.

Have not driver an 8 manual ever(....yeah I know). WOW. These things are f'ing beasts. They just want to go...go ...go, or eat.... eat... eat. I drove it home 300+ miles learning the box, powerbands, and just what she likes to do to the best of my(and her) ability.

I think I fell in love in that 6 hour drive. Seriously, I have wedding vows ready. :P

When I got home (Virginia Beach) I had to take her out at the strip (was a ****in traffic nightmare....but still fun as HELL) than along our 4 land blvd looking for any temptations. I got some fine chicks to fall all over me at the beach, and raced an old chevy truck with something sick sounding under the hood, stayed with him and even gaining ground at 70+, nice thumbs up from him....one of the better nights Ive had in a long time. So since I'm obviously quick becoming a LS1 junkie that will serve many long nights here, just wanted to say hey. And, when I get some more money I want more bang for the buck. I'm sure I'll be askin the pros here questions, when I have enough knowledge to ask those said pro's.

Cheers
SS Lover

Hello there. First off congrats on the 2001 Camaro SS and most importantly welcome to the site! Lot's of good info here and seeing as how you have a 4th Gen I would recommend looking at this section http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=34 for some 4th Gen. info.

Welcome aboard!

firebreather, CONGRATS and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Ok after reading through the forums I see I posted in the wrong place. Damn I hate people that do the thing I just did.

My 4gen is sweet, but I did not see the 4gen forum when I first got here. I'll stick to that one.

However all you new Camaro owners that said what's up, thanks. If I had 35k I'd be posting here more often. My car broke my bank as it is. But what I got from this is we're all family, which is (IMO) the way it should be.

Loved lookin at the new gen of badass burners.

Cheers
