So while driving down the road along comes an 18 wheeler and CLUNK here comes a rock into my windshield ... Small star ding ... Repair comes out tries to fix it ... It was a fail ... Now splitting even worse would you believe the windshield is going to cost $600.00

you don't have full glass coverage on your insurance?

I got a rock ding in mine and the glass place replaced it for free waving the deductable. Plus they tinted the strip at the top for free too and charged it to the insurance company. If you've got the coverage, call around. Some one will replace it for cheap if not free I bet.

A factory windshield msrp is 770 or there a bouts. Most are replacing with a windshield manufactured by plinkton. They make the oem glass and the price is far cheaper. I think some say around 300.
