A friend of mine gave me a partial gallon of a detailing spray called Auto Tech Wow. It's the color of watered down milk and it works great on my black SS. The best thing about it is that it doesn't leave any kind of haze on the plastic or glass like regular car was does.

I haven't been able to find any of this stuff on eBay or any place else so if someone can find a source for it please let me know.

Go with the new Adams paste. I use it on our black car and it rocks

A friend of mine turned me onto Meguiar's. I bought the car wash, liquid wax, clar bar kit and the scratch X. The price was reasonable. I have to say that I am a first believer now. I used the entire set on my Enclave (white) and used the scratch X on a friend's 4Runner (dark blue) and my truck (basically CGM colored). I was truely impressed and can't wait to use it all on my Camaro.

As a kid, my dad was the SoCal rep for Meguiar's and I spent my weekends washing and waxing his car for years. Then, Meguiar's dropped him for some other rep company and he picked up "The Wax Shop." I really liked their stuff compared to Meguiar's. I do not know if The Wax Shop is still in business or not. But, Meguiar's new stuff...their NXT Generation wax...I really like it!!

For black, or other dark colors, Pinnacle Souveran. If you don't want to use paste go with a Wolfgang or Klasse product, like the all-in-one polish with high gloss sealant over it. I think you will be happy with the Klasse products or liquid Souveran.

A sealant is all you need. Wax will help the protection last longer and may give it a deep wet look depending on the wax you use.

While waiting for our 2011 Black Camaro to be delivered, I got advice from this forum on a good plan of action to detail a black car. We ended up doing this for a spectacular, mirror like finish on my 2007 Charger...looking forward to doing the Camaro as soon as it comes in. We did a wash, then Mother's clay, then a wax stripping wash with Chemical Guys Citrus wash (didn't feel right using Dawn). We followed that with a Chemical Guys EXTREME SHINE EZ~CREME GLAZE w/ACRYLIC SHINE II, and then directly followed Blackfire White Diamond sealant. Both of these were hand applied...easy on and off. Car looks better than when I bought it new...simply amazing!
