My new SS would struggle to run that number I'm pretty sure. Gut it like the rsx, with same mods, it would likely be a pretty good race.
If you can drive, the Honda stuff can be fast. Truth is, most guys are too timid with them to see any real performance.
You launch them as high as you dare, and shift them even higher. My rsx is a fun little ride, but the camaro is so much easier to drive and enjoy.
A stock new si with a good driver should be low-mid 14's at most tracks. Bad driver, sky is the limit!!!
I assume the v6 is a 14 second ride also, could be a race if the stars align, but otherwise, camaro would likely win by a length or 2.
Trouble is most import guys do think their car is a rocket or something.
I used to laugh at the teenage goons at the track that would come up to me...
"Is that turbo?"
Only because I just laid waste to the e-bay turbo kit b18 integra with no tune...
The lack of general car knowledge is the biggest turn-off with that crowd. I like all cars, but when I tell you it has special muffler bearings and roller ball joints, the light should go on!!!
so true! however, if you go to an autocross event and talk to those guys, its a whole different crowd. the majority know their shit. i autocross my honda and would talk to the other honda guys to get pointers about what to do to the car and the first thing most say is "dont rice it out"

seems like a different import crowd at the drag strip. most dont even talk to me when i go cause i'm in a big american car there as opposed to the autocross events where i'm in my little honda, which is understandable cause its a different class car, but i can tell by looking at their "riced" out cars they drag race and see that they are very uneducated. not all, but many. maybe its just the test n tune nights...

not trying to label all import guys like that btw...

THe ONLY thing that the NSX is overpriced is in the power catagory.

That being said it's under priced in build quality and a few other features that one can appreciate when they own one, like me. I used to think that the NSX is "overpriced/overated" when I was killing them in my 430rwhp 2600lbs FD3S RX7.

But then one day my friend that had a RX7 too IPO'd and was worth $6 million over night. That was back in 2000. Immediately he was looking at F, P and L cars but after talking to his friends he realized that those weren't for him since he wants a car he can drive EVERY day.

I got a ride in it. Immediately u noticed the quality at so many levels. My FD and my friends C5 Z really felt like a POS.

At the end of the day the NSX is the BEST all around car when you factor in MPGs (this is one of the few cars that seem to do better on the MPGs than what the EPA rates them at), world renown Honda/Acura reliability, build quality, fit and finish (one of the first, if not the first production cars to have stitched interiors), ease of use, forward visibility, low weight, balance, awesome climate control system, etc.

The NSX engine comes with forged cranks and Titanium connecting rods. The engine can handle alot of power mods with the proper fuel supply and tune.

All aluminum chassis can handle the power too.

And finally I just love the resell value. There was one in So Cal that sold for $15k with 400k miles. Original engine and tranny. passed Cali smog too.

8k~ NSXs made from 1991 - 2005. That and the build quality is what really helped sustain the resell value.

That NSX in the middle of the video was stolen.

Here's a nice video of 2 buddies in Sweden fooling around in public streets. They actually wait for the cop to catch up by stopping in the streets and then going at it again. LOL

And the best scene was when the vette pulled to the police academy and does a burn out. LOL

My favorite NSX video:

How about a Camaro V6Auto Vs. a Civic Si with a LS9 and a Nitro Kit. Maybe the Civic could win! Now imagen that with a VTech......forget about it Camaro V6.

the new civic SI is a pretty peppy car but it has no torque.. you should be able to take almost all NA civics.. watch out for the turbo guys though because those cars are light.. and with the right turbo on the right B series engine, they are fast..
The new Challenger SE is supposed to go 0-60 in about 6.3 seconds. Looks, foreign vs. domestic, and all that aside, I don't think you can dismiss the new Civic Si for being a couple tenths slower than the Challenger any more than you can dismiss the Camaro V6 for being a couple tenths slower than the new Mustang V6.

It does weigh more then the S2K. What helps the NSX launches well for a RWD car is that the engine and tranny is right near the rear wheels to help with traction.

Besides the lack of power (mostly flat TQ, but today's power standards) how would the NSX be over priced?

And for the Supra, that's the first I've heard that it's over priced. Although I have the turtle/jelly bean with a handle bar look I'll give it credit for having a pretty tought inline-6 and that bulletproof tranny from Getrag.

I've seen a few of the factory twins on these MKIV make close to 430rwhp with the boost cranked up, intake, and full exhaust. Back in the day that was about $900 to make that sorta power. Very good bang for the buck.

Fine. You can, if you don't mind completely ignoring logic and objective facts. If you do mind, the Civic does have a lot going for it considering the part of the car market it's aimed at - with the Si it's pretty sprightly, too.

And until very recently, it was quite a bit more "made in America" than the Camaro has been for 20 years.
