Dang!!! The Monument Fire is just across Hwy 92 and on the side of the mountian! This thing is less than 8 miles from my house right now. We're in no danger of it coming down and jumping the Highway, but dang this is so close. You guys would be shocked to see it at night.

When I was about 10, the mountain on post (Huachuca Mountain?) was on fire. We lived on base at the time. No evacuations but it was something to see at night.

Here are a few pictures of the fire. I just found out that it took out a lot of homes in one of the canyons. I'll take more tonight after dark.

It looks like I will be in Phoenix early Saturday, so I will meet everyone at D&B's.

Will, thank you for all your videos and pictures. We hope the fire go out soon, we would rather see you racing

Yeah it's pretty scary right now. Embers jumped Hwy 92 and came on to the side I am on, but about 10 miles away. I'm not sure on the containment on that fire right now.

I know that there was 0% containment this morning when I watched the news. The huge amount of smoke you see in my photos are homes going up in flames. It's a very sad day for those home owners. I hope that everyone was able to get out safely.

I went out last night to see the fire and I was turn away from the Hurferd area because I don't live around there. The fire is behind one of the mountians, so you really can't see a lot of flames. The one mountian behind the pictures with smoke is still active with a lot of flames, but it's not a huge like like the front.

I hope they are able to get this under control, becuase now it's gettiing very close to Ft. Huachuca, and all the training grounds and riffle ranges will be hit next. Those areas have a lot of plains grass, so the fire will hit that hard and fast.

Stay safe. I have friends that live just a little bit down off Hereford and Moson. Hopefully it doesn't get that far. A good friend of mine used to have a shop on the corner of Hereford and 92...I wonder if it's still there?
