Not to be a buzzkill, but if I'm paying this much money for an intake, I expect it to include all the necessary parts for install. I don't have a dremel, so what else are you guys using to to this bracket "mod?"
I used a hacksaw to start the cuts and then finished off with a jigsaw. I thne straightened off the edges with a file.

See page 3 of the instructions that Steve posted: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...postcount=1712

The modified bracket shown in the instructions had whiteout applied to the cut edges so that you could clearly see the section that was removed.

As for modifying it, a simple hacksaw blade will work just fine. The plastic cuts easily with it. Heck, I'd venture a guess that you could even get away with just using a good serrated steak knife too, but don't let your spouse catch you doing that.

Not trying to take filter cleaning kit sales away from Vararam but you can find the various colored filter cleaning kits here.

And, yes, they do have blue.

Thanks, that's a nice guide. Those pics are exactly what I was looking for. Doesn't look too hard...pretty sure I have a hack saw lying around somewhere.

Anyone planning on painting one of these? Is it ok to paint the entire thing, or areas that should not be painted?

Thx alot rolnslo, But I already had a response from "Green Filter" and I ordered what I needed to dye this filter to any color. I just bought the color dye and oil spray. FYI if you want to dye it they said to use "Rit dye" http://www.ritdye.com/ and pick you color. Here is the email between us.

I wrote,
I have just recieved the Vararam intake that comes with a white filter
from your company. And want to dye it blue. Is this the product that
gives me the result that I want? And is this simple to do. Thx!

Their response,
To get a true blue color I would use Rit dye. Dye the filter with that.
Let it dry. Then spray it with our clear oil. 2800.

That will get you the best color.

Hope this helps
Thanks for going Green!

Interesting info! I guess using RitDye would work as well as the colored oil. May have to think about this for a solid red filter...hmmm....

Anyone have the correct dimension for the gap as shown in this pic below?

Mine is very slightly over 1" - want to see if that is correct.

That's the route I'm going. I contacted Green from the onset and they suggested the Rit. I need to order the clear oil kit first.

I just looked at mine and mine is about an inch, maybe slightly more. I think that's what you want. The more air the better but a half inch or less, I think would be deprivation of air. Still, this thing is the bomb! Just imagine on cool days when the air is like my ex-wife, DENSE!
