most power out of my 2SS without voiding my warranty?

There's been lots of talk about performance mods, modded engines dying, warranty voiding.

I was wondering how to get the most power out of my 2SS without voiding my warranty?
(assume the service manager is moderately strict about GM policies) if it matters

as far as I know CAI is okay
how about the VM Throttle Body?
Exhaust cutouts?

thanks,

Cut outs won't give you any power. If you're worried about warranty coverage leave the damn car alone. Is 8 rwhp worth taking the chance on loosing your warranty coverage? NOPE

CAI and exhaust should be fine...anything else and you are screwed (oh yeah and whatever you do, do not tune the engine)

that's why I'm asking..I realize it's easier to leave it alone..so there are no horsepower add ons that won't void a warrant? or are you just looking to bust balls?

He's not busting balls. He's just saying that you have to pay to play. If you are worried about the warranty then don't mod at all because you are only guessing what the dealer and GM will do. Unless your dealer specifically tells you that they would warranty repairs after a specific mod, assume they won't.

Good point but it comes down to a roll of the dice. Mod and tune if you feel lucky.
Camaro's of 25-30 years ago were considered high performance at 185 hp.
Be thankful GM gave you a warranty at 426hp.

there was another thread that mentioned it. I haven't seen too much on it..

*****If you are worried about the warranty then don't mod at all because you are only guessing what the dealer and GM will do. Unless your dealer specifically tells you that they would warranty repairs after a specific mod, assume they won't.****

ok, that's what I'm trying to find out. For instance, I wondered if there were any exhausts or catback etc that might be ok by GM (guess I'm talking about sound too)

apparently you'll see an increase from a simple CAI... are there any other of those types of mods.. or am I incorrect is assuming the CAI can also be a red flag for GM?

Dude I am telling you...a CAI with NO TUNE will be fine....in fact I think K&N air filters' CAI is backed by K&N and I think they have helped their customers out in any disputes.

An exhaust is definitely ok at long as you do not touch the catalytic converter....hell, borla works with GM on their exhausts.

no dice rolling for me. I'll wait out the warranty You're correct on 426hp and a warranty..for the record, it's plenty fast enough, but, you know how it is. I'll have to be patient for a couple of years...

Good luck with that. Only a couple of years? Why not the full 5?
Do what you want! It is your car. Everything in life is about chances and choices. So no warranty problems happened and you waited 5 years, dang I wish. So you went and voided it. Dammit I did not .

Who has more fun.
